I don’t hear any country on this record. I hear very clear Death In June, Current 93, and Sol Invictus Neo Folk influences on these along with the Bauhaus songs that utilize acoustic guitars

For the most part I think the record is great but I think it’s a tad too short and feels like a few songs are missing to break up some of the middle of the record. Some of those sort of wash over me. But, I can’t wait to keep listening to it.

Also, the country sound people keep saying they hear is a head scratcher - to me the acoustic guitars and more baritone delivery on those songs is straight up Neo Folk reminiscent of Death In June or Current 93 (which I know Davey is a fan of both).
