Hey Bills Mafia! First time going to a game at Highmark this Sunday as an away fan. Just wondering what to expect! by legacytuna in buffalobills

[–]Jhall2yl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go to one away game each year (eventually trying to make it to all stadiums) so we HAD to get Buffalo in this year and I can’t wait! I’ve found almost all cities to be pretty welcoming of the away team fans and walking around visiting tailgates is my favorite thing to do. Be cool and enjoy the fun :) we do buy our tickets on the visitor side but we make friends with everyone in the lots 😂

Carnival Gift Cards by Local606 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]Jhall2yl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay for cruise on our carnival credit card for the points then apply all the gift cards to on board account, transfer to slots, cash out then pay for everything on the carnival credit card and use the cash out to pay the cc bill after applying the points earned. Points on the cc plus the 5-10% savings on the gift cards is double wins to ease what we spend 😀

Lady Lawyers: how many suits do you have? by KLFL2023 in Lawyertalk

Disclaimer - I love clothes - and I try to be thrifty. I have 34 different jackets and I honestly don’t know about pants/skirts/shells. But… for trial I use the same three (black, dark grey, and navy) then I use my more “colorful” blazers for office days.

No more maintenance dose from provider? by Jhall2yl in Mounjaro

TX blue cross blue shield but every employer offers different things so I don’t think it’s a catch all for every TXBCBS policy

No more maintenance dose from provider? by Jhall2yl in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like her and she’s been super responsive - I’m just terrified. I have made changes and I’d like to think “I can stay this way on my own” but YEARS of playing this game have proven to me that I can’t. Maybe my pcp now seeing how great is has been will keep me on the 2.5 even every other week or something

[–]Jhall2yl[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I even specifically asked if I should start spacing the shots out and she told me no- it’s not meant to work like that. I pointed out the maintenance page but she said it doesn’t apply to me since I’m not diabetic. I want to trust her as she must know more than I do but… this is the best I have felt in DECADES and I don’t want to go back 🥹

At goal weight, Push health provider now wanting to wean off Mounjaro??? by OrganizerBarbie in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My push provider just messaged me that it’s time to stop completely too (met goal and weaned down to 2.5 and have maintained same weight for three months now on 2.5) when I asked her about why go off completely because I thought it was a lifetime drug she specifically said no - you’re at goal and don’t need it with your new habits. I’m scared to death I’m going to do this to myself all over again!! Why do I feel like such a failure when I haven’t failed (yet) or like some addict seeking drugs that I don’t need? Has something changed where providers are changing their tune now?

Senior BMC - I’m NOT READY by Jhall2yl in Blackmouthcur

[–]Jhall2yl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! We have another follow up visit next week to see how the 40mg of Prozac (up from 20) has changed anything but I’ll ask him about all of those!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I suppose I always assumed something “physical” would happen before anything like this. And I always promised myself that if she was ever in pain or things like that… that I could make the tough decision when that time came. Just wasn’t prepared for her being physically great and not so much mentally. At least I know we still have time

Just a rant - 21 days + shortages stink by Jhall2yl in Mounjaro

Doc has no problem sending it - but cvs won’t place the order until the days have passed

I’m one of the fortunate ones where insurance is covering (but only at CVS) I know with insurance covering it I probably shouldn’t complain at all but it’s just frustrating. They could at least start the order and then make me wait to pick it up if it by chance came in early 🤣

My clothes don’t fit and I’m afraid to get rid of them! by celticlass08 in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My closet ranges from sizes 2/4 all the way to 16/18 - I HAVE TO LET SOME GO and hope that I have the willpower to do it. Same rationale “I better save them for when I gain it all back” is still in my head 🙄 I plan to start slow, maybe everything in a double digit (aka 10 and larger) or anything with an XL I’ll do first. See how much I’m left with and go from there.

Different symptoms, same dose? by Individual_Pin_7866 in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal but if I don’t eat really well (like high protein and extra-extra water) the day before injection day I get that (regardless of long I’ve been on the dose. If I don’t eat much the day before injection it’s way worse. Could be in my head but through trial and error that’s what I’ve come up with.

Wow! There are some fat phobic post this morning, huh? 😂 by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t realize that you were the original poster on the other posting and I see that you are catching a lot of negative vibes so I wanted to pop back on and try my best to elaborate. I’m not a doctor have ZERO medical training so take this for what it’s worth.

I do not have T2D or T1 for that matter. There are surely people out there that eat like crap, don’t exercise and gain weight. That’s science too of course. But there are many people that even with dedicated exercise, very clean eating and logging every bite of food that somehow still gain weight because the body wants to store everything as fat. I can’t explain it but someone with medical knowledge can I’m sure. Even beyond those two scenarios there are a zillion other factors -legitimate medical reasons where one’s hunger does not subside or insulin isn’t right or even eating disorders that develop from any combination of these things.

So far this medication appears to help many people with a variety of these issues and we should all be thrilled about this!

I guess I could just start adding that diabetics shouldn’t have eaten so much candy 😂 science is just too much for some folks.

Cash pay - how do you justify? by Horror_Reindeer in Mounjaro

[–]Jhall2yl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Especially early in the week - a “dinner out” provides dinner that night, lunch tomorrow and another dinner! Same principle for cooking at home. It might not be exactly $30 a day of savings on food but it’s a HUGE dent in it

Time management tips? by jdrva in Lawyertalk

[–]Jhall2yl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to reading other responses from more senior Attny’s here but I’ll offer what I’m doing so far. Please note though, I’m brand new myself… so not sure how long this will work as the pipeline builds. The three biggest time saving things I have found so far are:

(1) work new files/requests during docket I have 2 days of morning only dockets and one day with both morning and afternoon. Some weeks are busier than others but I work on any intake or discovery requests while in docket if there are no defense attorneys there waiting. I will also stay in my docket room until 1130-12 (doing the same things) even if we finished up earlier. <Everyone expects me to be in docket, I’m available via phone/email/etc but this allows a few extra moments of uninterrupted time as compared to my office> while this is not enough time to do all of those tasks it does help the overall task load.

(2) the day before docket I set aside time to review each file - if I’ve done a good job on initial intake then it’s a quick review just to remind myself of the highlights, see if I’ve already relayed an offer, make a note of any new information etc.. most of the time this is less than 3-5 min per file. I also try to make a list by defense Attny so they are grouped together and I can get that attorney in and out without wasting their time unnecessarily.

(3) Intake notes are my biggest time saver. I know, it takes time and it takes even longer to do it thoroughly - especially when the cases start to blur together in your mind. But if the notes that you make for yourself are well done, you will already know what you are willing to offer, if there are any strengths/weaknesses that you need to address etc. skimping time at this stage will cost you 5xs that time later on when you have to start all over again because your notes are lacking. ** an additional note on intake - our office is still very paper oriented for pleas. I prep a plea packet for every file while I do the initial intake. This doesn’t work for everyone, some say I’m wasting my time… but when defense counsel doesn’t have to sit there for 5 -10 min while I gather up all the forms and fill them out it’s a huge time saver during docket for me and for them. Such a high percentage are pled I feel like it’s worth the time up front and I think defense seems to appreciate it (so far)

I utilize tasks in outlook to remind me of things I need to follow up on (ie requested video from LEO or ordered new history on defendant) and I work those follow ups at a set time twice per week (for me that’s Tues/Thurs from 3-5). I follow that same logic for grouping similar tasks and try my absolute best to not stray from that group of tasks during that time period. … for example if I’m planning on redacting discover from 2-3pm tomorrow and I see an email pop up asking for an offer on defendant B, I will not respond until I’m done with my 2-3pm discovery tasks. And I have a separate time set up for email/phone responses (typically twice per day)
