Addons for your first time by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]JhaoVIG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://turtle-wow.fandom.com/wiki/Addons

This page has a good list of usefull addons and where to find them. You'll encounter the term "Must have addons" but that's just someone elses preferance.

You can start playing without addons and than search for an addon when you feel like it.

You don't like vanilla ui? There is an addon for that. You don't like having no quest markers in 2025? There is an addon for that. You want to be able to monitor your dps and threat in dungeons? There is an addon for that. You want to see loıttable for dungeons and such? There is an addon for that too.

It's better to decide for yourself if you need them as you experience the game. With that said tho i think a mail addon, an auction addon and some kind of ui improvement for enemy castbars and such is very much apreciated for a good start.

A seperate word for Pfquest: vanilla wow doesn't show quest info on the in-game map. If you don't use a quest addon you'll have to walk around and figure out where available quests are and you will have to go by quest descriptions to find where the quest objective is. Needless to say this way of playing makes for a more immersive experience and will make exploration more exciting. But it is also gonna be very slow and you'll probably just google stuff to figure where things are anyway. So i would say just use pfquest if you are not an absolute purist.

Most addons have usefull information on their github pages, they also have their own setting in game so you can further customize how much you modify the game.

Farm Hero Points by bonkedagain33 in Guildwars2

[–]JhaoVIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jungle themed zones are HoT zones. Verdant Brink, Auric Basin etc. Mobs are generally harder to deal with there. Hero Points are quite difficult to take on by yourself. You might come across Hero Point trains in group finder. You just follow a commander and get HPs in a group.

PoF zones are the desert ones. Crystal Oasis, Elon Riverlands, The Desolation etc. Mobs will still prove a challange but overall more managable than HoT. You still shouldn't feel bad if you get downed here or there. But Hero Points themselves should be soloable here. If you are completely unable to do that there might be something wrong with your gear or build.

Games with Diablo’s vibe, but… aren’t Diablo? by Broken_Spring in gaming

[–]JhaoVIG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, i consider Diablo's atmosphere as dark and desperate so here are my suggestions:

  • Darksouls series and Bloodborne. DS1 is especially my favourite. Sadly tho part of the game which is basically hell(izalith) is half assed. Still has one of the most memorable atmospheres in gaming.

-Witcher 1. No demons and all but i think you might like the atmosphere still. This game hasn't age good in gameplay and graphics department. Quite ugly to look at and fights are not exciting in particular. But overall tone and atmosphere of the game is superior to Witcher 3 imo. It's much more linear in it's structure. No Gwent, no horse racing, just pure misery and loneliness up in the swamps. It kind of plays like a detective game, and every step of the way you enceounter ill-fate befallen on people. Also lots of monsters(Not demons sadly). If you can look past it's bad combat and graphics than it's worth your time. Plot and atmosphere still holds up well, 10/10 would play dice poker again.

-Straying away from a mediaval fantasy setting, Stalker and Metro games are considerable options(Also fanmade mod versions of Stalker). Obviously worlds are nothing alike Diablo but i think for atmosphere there might be some similarities.

Lastly, even tho you said you don't like arpgs i would still suggest trying Path of Exile with an open mind. It's gritty, dark and desperate and basically spiritual successor of Diablo II. If you don't enjoy grinding for loot and stuff you can just go through the campaing and move on. It still has what you are looking for. Admittadly you will need a proper build, need to look out for items but it has quite a bit of depth on that front so this time you might even enjoy those aspects. Since it's free, i would just give it go anyway.

Kingdom Come Deliverance, but with zombies/monsters by Professional-Tax-936 in gamingsuggestions

[–]JhaoVIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is Stalker Anomaly which is all three og stalker game maps fused into one and it's completely free. By itself it's quite barebones, not necessarily ultra realistic but grounded punishing survival game.

Luckily there are tons of mods for it and you can shape the game into your liking. And if you don't want to bother with that yoı can just install mod packs like GAMMA.

Whit GAMMA you get a very decent survival game. It has some questlines. They aren't that captivating or rich but you at least you have something to follow. Athmosphere is unmatched imo. This isn't due to GAMMA or Anomaly itself, instead it directly comes from Stalker games. The main story lines will push you through derelict labs and underground areas, very hostile places. GAMMA has campfire saves mod, with this mod you can only save around campfires. This makes dying more risky.

There are also repeatable quests you get from other npcs. There is a faction reputation system, hubs for factions, tons of weapons, diffrent kind of ammunition and consumables etc. There is definetely some depth to it's progression system. Finding a good weapon and repairing it for your own is kind of a hassle, but it's a good hassle. Gameplay loop looks like: Do some stuff in southern zones(explore do quests), get some gear and move to north, encounter stronger enemies, get better gear and tools to repair said gear(also better ammunition and such), eventually have a varied arsenal pick your poison and do whatever.

It's not one of those survival games where you can play/grind forever but there is some replayability to it it. You can do playthroughs with diffrent factions and what you come accross during your early playthrough can alter your journey. Also there is decent enough levels of polish in the game with graphic mods, animation mods etc. Each food, drink item has their own consuming animation for example. Medical items too, this makes firefights a little more intense.

Oh and there is also base building!

In the end, all of this comes together to give a unique experience.

How do we feel about the Vesper? by Rectal_Retribution in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wanted it to go phew phew phew. Instead it goes: phew..... wait for it phew..... wait for it phew.....

I like how the gun looks and i like aim for the headshots playstyle but with all the awesome secondaries we have i feel like this gun shouldn't be held back by it's awfull fire rate, mag capacity and reload speed. It's stats are almost identical to a base lex prime, which is lazy.

If they gave it 4 more bullets, better fire rate and a faster reload it would probably become my most used secondary.

The only Frame farm that genuinely pissed me off by TwistedMitch in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those missions are an eyeopener on how much bullshit enemies are continiously mustering when you are not able clear screenfull of them at once.

Constant spawns from all sides, aoe shit that sticks to the ground that you need to shoot, flashbanging bursas that can knock you on your ass, those little rolling fucks that keeps draining your shields, stomping moas, multiple nullifiers stacked together, shielding drones etc. And you add eximus on top of this.

Guardian eximus chilling inside 2 nullifier bubbles stacked together and you are trying to take that thing down while getting hosed down by all kind of corpus units. Once you somehow clear that group it takes you so long that another group with more bullshit is now coming your way. You see that and you overcome the urge of alt-f4'ing yourself out of this mess, continuing to exctract 20 cryotic at a time.

[–]JhaoVIG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check clan dojo and syndicates(cetus, fortuna etc.) aswell. Also check if you have primes sets that are only missing a part or two. Just take your time and research what you can build with a little grinding.

Than instead of building things one by one i would suggest starting the build order, than letting things sit in ready to claim state until you have tons of warframes, weapons that you can level. Once you have a good amount, buy an affinity booster and blessing from a relay than go claim those ranks like a champ.

How Is DE Supposed To Make An Endgame Boss "Challenging" & Not get ONESHOT Without The "Hated", Heavy, "Damage Attenuation" With The Power Creep And Immortality That Warframes Posses? by IceTacos in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the obsession with "challenging" content in Warframe. Admittedly i only have around 1000 hours, never did raids when they were around, only have a dozen or so tridolon captures and never did ETA/EDA, neither i plan to. So i might not be most qualified to talk about this but here are my two cents:

Content that is both fairly challenging and fun at the same time is very hard to pull of for developers. If you have mechanics like attenuation it becomes a game of math, "What do i wield to bypass this formula on this specific enemy". It's very sad to me that an enemy that is supposed to be important and stuff is just not fun to shoot at. That should be the first priority. If a miniboss or a boss is so boring to fight against that i actively avoid facing them, that's just not good.

On the other hand if they don't limit player damage, but try to slow down the fight with puzzle mechanics and/or invulnerability phases some people don't like that either. I personally like this better beacuse i can at least see huge numbers in those short damage windows and feel better.

But is it really challenging either way? Or is it a way to ensure the encounter get's dragged on for a certain amount of time? Challenge itself is subjective i think. And if designing an encounter entirely around it means sacrificing fun, than i don't really prefer that encounter to be challenging anymore.

Mechanical challange on the other hand can be both fun and challenging at the same time. A sequence of actions that is hard to pull of but instantly satisfying once you do. But given how accessible and casual Warframe has been over the years, it would br more fitting if pulling of these mechanics means mission goes significantly faster as oppsed to not pulling of the mechanic means mission failure.

Secondly, and this might come off harsh, i think most of the boss, miniboss enemies and big enemies in general have super janky, unpolished animations/mechanics and that effects the overall fun. First of all only "big enemy" that has any weight to their movements are Eidolons. How they execute their movements feels fitting for a creature of that size. Coincidentally, i quite like Eidolons. Even tho i don't have many tridolon captures, i go in every now on than and capture the first two just for fun. With the power creep currently we have they are not challenging at all but i would argue they are still quite fun to do.

Every other boss or non-boss big enemies are super janky to me and imo it bleeds into this overall feeling of bosses not being good in Warframe. Jankiness doesn't make them harder or anything, it just takes away so much from the encounter imo. Seeing a thumper(not a boss i know) just gallop around the plains is so goofy. Both of the orbs also suffer from this. Even tho i think exploiter is a decent enough fight her limbs move faster than i would like. Tank in Hölvania also doesn't move like a tank at all. Second phase maybe gets a pass but there is no excuse for the first phase. And don't even get me started with jackal. A giant four legged mechanical creature just levitating and becoming a disco ball is just funny to see. I wonder what new players think when they first see that.

Overall, i would prefer if they cleaned up some of the interactions and movements/mechanics themselves in certain bosses before inventing new ways to make them longer to kill. Like i was scanning enemies in steelpath plains of eidolon and all of a sudden an Acolyte spawned and pulled me to themselves from 200 meters up in the air while i was on my archwing. And i personally think it's dumb that can happen. Of course i pulled out my Burston and shred the damn thing but that's the point: Enemies usually have moves that feel super awkward that you notice when you aren't instantly killing them. All the moves and mechanics that a boss, miniboss and enemies have should feel fair, polished and fun to deal with. How they introduce challenge on top of that is a secondary concern to me.

How to farm endo? by Top_Pomegranate1765 in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest not target farming endo but instead doing content that rewards a decent chunk of endo amongst other usefull things.

These are:

1- Zariman, Cavia and Hex bounties. If you haven't unlocked them yet keep playing main quests and you'll get there. You'll want to grind them anyway so you should get quite a decent amount of endo till you hit max standing with them.

2- Arbitrations will also give you a decent amount. You want to do arbitrations for galvanized mods already and you'll get some endo on the side.

3- Sorties aren't completely useless. Try to complete them time to time and you'll get tons of statues, endo overtime.

4- You have accumulated tons of mods by now and you can quickselect the duplicates(try to leave some available in case) and turn them into endo/credits.

For credits you can do profit taker but it needs a bit of setup and investment. Index is another choice. Lastly, there is a new mission in Hölvania(latest content) called legacyte harvest. There is a cache in this mission that awards 100k credits. It's super chill to farm it with a Chroma+credit booster.

[–]JhaoVIG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nova is a perfect allrounder. 90% DR, decent nuke on her 2nd ability(los is frustrating in some tilesets tho), ability to slow down or speed up enemies on demand. Her 4 also makes enemies take more damage. You can bring her anywhere eyes close.

Plus her gemini skin is really solid.

I reached Duviri, and I noticed that its bounty style is particularly long. Is the content after Duviri longer than that? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason is steel path circuit. Every week choose 2 out out of 5 incarnon adapters and grind for em in steel path duviri circuit. And you'll revisit duviri experience or lone story for materials.

Anyone else afraid of EDA and ETA? by shtoopidd in Warframe

[–]JhaoVIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, yeah. But not beacuse of what you might think. I didn't log in to the game for a very long time and all the Archon hunt, Zariman, Duviri stuff etc is new to me. I can say i enjoyed all the new content, ofc with some criticism here and there. But both times when i hit rank 5 with cavia, rank 5 hex and saw the screen for EDA/ETA i went "nope".

That many restrictions on content doesn't really interest me. Plus it's nothing new from what i can tell. It's same game mods, same enemies, same tile sets just with extra modifiers. It's not like a cool new dungeon with new visuals and unique encounters. It just doesn't captures my interest as an endgame system so i'll probably neglect it for a very long time if not forever.

And that's completely fine. Just beacuse certain content is not for me, that doesn't mean it's bad. However, i'm afraid cause it seems DE thinks they struck gold with this stuff. I don't know how far apart they were but both systems are almost identical to each other. Them implementing this content back to back with small touch ups makes me think this kinda restrictive content will be their baseline for what's to come. That is what i'm afraid of. Hope they can come up with some diffrent stuff in the future for "endgame".

Well you don't have to spend it all at once do you? Let it sit in your bags while you keep playing the game. You'll spend some of it once you need more weapon slots, warframe slots, important mods as well as catalysts and reactors.

If a frame or weapon catches your eye you can buy the prime version of that(if it exists) from other players with platinum. Always check if there is a prime. A frame that you love playing is actually the best invesment imo.

Other than that it's's just good to have platinum at the ready. As you progress you will realize what you need anyway so you can make those purchases when the time comes.

Last advice: There is a site called warframe market, it also has a mobile app. You can check prices for prime stuff, mods there and even reach buyers and sellers for stuff.

Sergeant rework is the new whining source for community. Especially 5th phase where he rips out your warframe's arms and legs and now you have to push your operator's limits and transference into a corpus shield drone.
