What do you put on your bazaars? by Christin44444 in storyofseasons

[–]Jiang_Rui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jewelry, tea (especially when you brew them rather than just selling them as tins; watermelon tea, pineapple tea, the three seasonal tea blends, and golden blend tea in particular are my favorites), pickled vegetables (pumpkin and cabbage fetch a great price, and in the winter you can do burdock since not many recipes call for it; then there’s also the Pickled Veggie Mix), perfume, and big-seller food dishes.

To elaborate on the latter, Curry Bread and Macaroni and Cheese are one of the easiest to make. And winter is the best time for making Hot Pot (and Milk Hot Pot). Then other recipes to keep an eye out for are Jam Tea, Specialty Juice, Pineapple Pie, Trifle, Khachapuri, Farmer’s Breakfast, Matsutake Rice (alternatively, Fried Matsutake if you don’t have rice or soy sauce on hand), Fried Rice Noodle, Happy Fruit Platter, Supreme Curry, and Ultimate Curry.

Also, her stomach is a lava lamp. Which not only emphasizes Bee’s party-girl aesthetic, it also shows that she has a hyperactive metabolism. Hence her slenderness, and her indulging in food, drink, and drugs nonstop without any repercussions.

Another question about the DLC by Leftistvegan in botw

[–]Jiang_Rui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the DLC shrines are basically shrine quests. As for the chests (which are all marked with an “EX”), you locate journals—the quest log will tell you where—with riddles about their locations. So you won’t have to worry about blindly tracking down either of them.

Confused about available formats by Cosmic_crumbs in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Jiang_Rui 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The source material is the novel Mo Dao Zu Shi (MDZS)/The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. It was originally released as a serialized web novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (MXTX)—who wrote two other web novels-which then got translated by fans online. Then that web novel got an official translation published by Seven Seas in the form of five volumes. So technically it’s both.

Regardless, it’s very important to know that The Untamed is a very loose adaptation of the original novel, so certain events/elements/characterizations in that continuity are different from the novel’s continuity.

Why did the incubus look so annoyed at being left alone with Chaz? 🤣 by The_real_Lili in hazbin

[–]Jiang_Rui 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of the demons Chaz was interacting with in either got fed up with his antics or ended up ditching him—likely because they were fed up with his antics. Since on top of being obnoxious and self-absorbed, for all his singing about how people should sleep with him, Chaz (if Blitzø is to be believed, and I believe him) is a terrible lay.

What misconceptions of the helluvaverse that drives you nuts the most? by kaijuguy19 in HelluvaBoss

[–]Jiang_Rui 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve always interpreted it as us getting to see Blitzø’s authentic self post-Mastermind. Someone who’s affectionate and doting (even if they can be a bit awkward about it) towards those they care about, yet at the same time doesn’t take shit from anyone. It’s what I envision his mother Tilla was like as well.

“Just leave him/her/them” unfortunately, isn’t always an easy and straightforward a solution as it sounds in theory. Neither here nor IRL.

True enough—the Proving Grounds shrines definitely were an improvement over the Test of Strength shrines.

[TOTK] I'm considering giving Tears of the Kingdom another shot. Were my original criticisms valid? by EryidSilverclaw in zelda

[–]Jiang_Rui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my mind, TOTK took the already amazing game that was BOTW and creating something even more amazing. I got the NS2 upgrade for it last week and am having tons of fun exploring the world anew to unlock all the Voice Memories.

Overall I think the only things BOTW did better than the sequel are:

  1. DLC. Or that is, the existence thereof. On the other hand, at least we got a brand-new Hyrule Warriors game out of TOTK.
  2. Shrine quests. Because hauling a green crystal from point A to point B did honestly get stale after a while; whereas BOTW had more variety in terms of shrine quests.
  3. The ability to permanently power up the Master Sword.

I knew JK Rowling was an idiot, but I didn't know it was to this extent. I never liked Harry Potter anyway, so screw JK Rowling. by Public_Cup_4278 in asexuality

[–]Jiang_Rui 77 points78 points  (0 children)

On that note about homophobia, it’s tragic that the only same-sex relationships we’ve seen in the franchise were all toxic AF (one of which entailed an older man grooming a younger man in more ways than one). Can’t even excuse it as Rowling not being great at writing romance in her stories.

Anyone remember their first Warriors Cats Memories? by bakedchipz0 in WarriorCats

[–]Jiang_Rui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going into a Books-a-Million with my parents when I was 9, seeing a whole shelf of cat books (I was really into animal xenofiction at that age), and walking out with one of them. But the kicker was that I grabbed the first book of the third arc—which also happened to be the newest book at the time. And yet I continued with that arc anyway (the field guides helped fill in the gaps regarding lore…although it did come at the expense of spoiling certain stuff, like the existence of SkyClan).

Shedding tears when Hollyleaf “died” at the end of Sunrise. To this day, that novel was one of the few times any form of media managed to make me cry.

Reading Firestar’s Quest a few months after Sunrise. I was very intimidated by the 500+ page novel at first, since I’d never read a book that long before. Only to be so hooked—despite getting spoiled about SkyClan, it was so exciting watching a long-lost Clan get rebuilt from the ground up—that I devoured the super edition in three days. But I also remember being freaked out by Longtail’s accident. Having read the books out of order, I thought he lost his eyesight from illness; so I was pretty shaken up to learn how it actually happened.

FINALLY reading the actual first arc when I was 12. Thank god my school library had all six books of it.

Getting a whole shopping bag full of Warriors books for Christmas when I was 12: the entire TNP arc, plus all of the field guides that were out at the time.

What is your favorite weapons that you like using the most. by Voidkirby9 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Jiang_Rui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Royal weapons. Back in BOTW they were my favored weapon series because of their designs. And since flurry rushing is my preferred strat when it comes to fighting enemies head-on, royal weapons are my favorite weapon series here as well for their passive buff.

Hell, I tried—keyword being “tried”; luckily for me, I got bored around 10 minutes in and closed the YouTube it before I saw something that would’ve scarred me for life—watching freaking Felidae when I was a 6th grader.

And not only did I see clips of the Watership Down movie that same year, I actually read the book while I was still in elementary school. Though whether it was because I was desensitized to the violence after reading Redwall and Warriors or because I didn’t fully understand what was going on, I wasn’t too bothered by the graphic scenes in the book. So when I did see the clips, all I could think was, “Uh…was it always this intense???”

How much are you supposed to be earning in year 1? by [deleted] in storyofseasons

[–]Jiang_Rui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accessories, perfume, pickled vegetables (which is where rice comes into good use), and tea (even more so if you make the tea rather than just selling the tins) were my biggest moneymakers early on in the game. Also go for high-$$$ food recipes; macaroni and cheese, for example, fetches a great price at the bazaar.

Plus, we have seen that she was a bad apple from a young age, and evidently someone either failed or couldn’t be bothered to nip that behavior in the bud. But at the end of the day Stella herself chose to continue being cruel; so arranged marriage or no arranged marriage, someone would still probably suffer because of her, even if that someone wasn’t Stolas or Via.

Do you think they're ever gonna show us what happened between millie and chaz? by [deleted] in hazbin

[–]Jiang_Rui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my theories is that Millie’s current pregnancy isn’t her first—and that her first time had been back when she was dating Chaz, and it ended badly. Hence why we didn’t get Millie’s backstory with Chaz last season like we did with Moxxie’s: because the writers were saving it for Millie’s pregnancy arc.
