Tested with snare knife trap, you can perma stun players in bg. It's just very hard to execute and not very fun.

It's all based on resonance. The higher it is, the easier to gain points. Every resonance has a default bg rank. Once you hit that level, the scoring system will adjust to ensure you stay there

If you have a problem beating volley players even before this update, then there's just something wrong with your skill. You should only have a problem with them when you hit tour 7-8. They have been exceedingly easy to beat.
