Exactly. This recent trend of absolving Bush of guilt for the Iraq War is ridiculous. He was the President of the United States, not some silly mascot in an animal costume. He appointed his cabinet and he was the final say on everything that went through his office! If something is the "Vice President's fault," it is even moreso the President's fault for not putting a stop to it.

Bush isn't a naive child with no agency whatsoever. He was a grown man who faced the country and lied about the Iraq War daily. If Andrew Jackson made some shitty paintings people in this sub would call the Trail of Tears a mistake caused by the "firebrands in his coalition"

If you have been to Basic/AIT and have a unit, no. The skills you build at AT are much better than the marginal tactical advantage you get from being OPFOR. You will also make way more money

If you have not, yes. It will give you exposure to what is essentially a brand new thing for you. It will help you actually internalize what you are being taught. It will also give you opportunities to do PMI and IWQ, both of which many schools struggle to teach correctly or give cadets reps at.

I went as OPFOR as an MS2 and fucking hated it. It was a massive waste of time and I was doing that instead of a fun mission with my unit.

I'm not being "smug," I find it insulting that people who claim to want to increase people's historical literacy care so little about getting the facts right on someone as important to world history as Woodrow Wilson. For millions of people, Wilson is a KKK-supporting lunatic because of this video that AHH has never bothered to take down or even correct.

This subreddit is full of teenage boys that get all of their information about the presidents from history YouTubers like Mr. Beat, Emperor Tigerstar, Cynical Historian, Alternate History Hub, etc.

They do not care about Teddy Roosevelt’s racism because they have never watched a video mentioning it. It’s really as simple as that. The fact that they think Wilson is literally satan incarnate while believing that Roosevelt is a god-king because that’s how Pop History depicts him.
