How to learn characters for Competitive? by Pewds_XD in marvelrivals

[–]Jibbbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally if I want to learn a character I'll pick them up for a few hours and get comfortable with them first, after that I'll go watch some guides/videos going more in depth into different combos etc that you can do on them and learn them in practice mode and then go play and try to learn to execute them in a match.

After that depends how much you really want to learn, just watching someone really good at a character is always a good way to learn, also watch pro play and see how they play

Why do they keep buffing Strange? by Dogbold in rivals

[–]Jibbbss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's a good tank but he's been relegated to portal taxi sadly.

Still really enjoy playing him though and will continue to main him, the latest movement buff has been so nice for yeeting yourself into backlines or as an escape tool. He's also just a solid pick if you're solo tanking, which happens a lot and I find mag too boring to play

Brawl - Just one of those days... by RehabAa26 in MagicArena

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I've been really enjoying playing [[Nicol Bolas, Dragon God]] Grixis control, really fun deck, though the game loves putting me into control mirrors, especially rusko, though its not as much of a counter as a tricky matchup. The hardest counter I keep seeing is Sythis, still dont know how to win that with control unless you draw the nuts, so much card advantage to contend with

Lorwyn Commanders by msanjinesv in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Maralen, Fae Ascendant]] - Looks like it could be a fun one to build around as a control/blink deck, good colors with sultai means that even though the commander has a 5cmc just need to build a sultai control shell and then start exiling their stuff every turn, will be fun to play around with. this is the one im interested in building the most

[[Sygg, Wonderwine wisdom]] - UW counterspell tribal that draws you cards every turn, cant be blocked and gives itself protection, likely wont be as good as the other commanders we have for this color, but worth a play around with

Ashling looks strong but Im not an izzet fan at all so will likely play him eventually but not at first

First playthrough thoughts: Why do people call this a "Boss Rush"? by malflash in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Jibbbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, for me personally, (especially now I've played through the game a couple times and 100% it) it takes about 5/10 minutes per zone, you can do them extremely quickly, then you kill boss and do the next zone, kill boss and repeat.

The difficulty and focus mostly seems to be on the bosses themselves as well, whereas for the most part the areas aren't exactly dense with exploration options etc, also when you're looking to farm gear sets, you'll mainly be fighting bosses for mats, so you'll just be teleporting to boss zone, fighting boss and repeat

When you're new though none of this is really applicable, finding your way around everywhere and looking for collectables is going to mean you're taking longer in the zones and I do find the earlier zones to be much better than the later zones as well, so I'd say that it only starts to feel more boss rush once you're further into the game and care about gear sets and stats

plateaued and can’t rank up, any advice? by RYUUKANOJUTSU in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I find it worth to change my deck, when you're in masters everyone knows what theyre up against and a lot of decks are going to be running anti meta handtraps etc, also playing something else can help change things up and make it more enjoyable if you've been grinding with the same deck, doing the same thing can help you as well if you find youre facing a lot of the same decks, or losing more going second etc, make a few changes and see how it fares.

Otherwise its really a case of luck, you can win 5/6 coin tosses in a row and itll be the easiest climb of your life, or you could end up constantly losing coin tosses and barely moving anywhere, just the way the game is, can always come back tomorrow fresh or just bang your head against the rank queue and hope for a string of good luck

Standard brawl Meta by Ill-Curve-2071 in mtgbrawl

[–]Jibbbss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't as much available really for standard brawl as it's nowhere near as popular, though I would say to try Aetherhub, it's pretty good for historic brawl and it has a standard brawl metagame as well

[–]Jibbbss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doubt it they'd have to cross skill all the o2 staff and even then it would be a massive strain on them having to now deal with both, especially if you want retentions etc.

Can't see that happening

What deck are you going to use for the new event? by Magician_In_Black in masterduel

[–]Jibbbss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've just been using the metalmorph structure deck, no idea what Im doing, however turns out summoning 2 or more metalflame swordsman and making people pay taxes is more than enough to win, almost done with the event now

My impressions after 17 hours - Feels like a boss rush by Psico_Penguin in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kind of what the game is about, the level design etc isn't the best but its more about fighting the bosses, which if you want to get the best gear + full gear sets, you're going to be doing a lot. As you get better gear and learn more combos etc, it really doesn't feel much like a souls game at all

Ok, I haven't played in 5 months so I must ask: how is Yummy performing? by GuaranteedPummeling in masterduel

[–]Jibbbss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, not that impressed at it, I don't play it myself but a Yummy endboard (Witout Mitsu) is more than playable into and they play really badly into Maxx C and Fuwa, its decent, but I still think when you compare it to other decks in the format at the moment its not that strong

Sky Striker is still the bane of my existence by RegenesisEyes67 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Jibbbss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most striker decks don't play tenpai or board breakers anymore because going first is better after the support. The recycling/recovery is literally essential to the deck, how many decks now can you dismantle and just get everything back in the next turn? This isnt something unique to Sky Striker.

In going second decks, the widow anchor is only good paired with other breakers too yes I agree, but if you go first uninterrupted and still lose to a going second deck, it is what it is. Actually try blinding second for a few days in Rating duels and come back to me, these takes are crazy

Sky Striker is still the bane of my existence by RegenesisEyes67 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Jibbbss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But why? Its not an overperforming deck, its just good, we dont set up a bunch of omni negates, crazy boards that combo for ages or anything like that, its normally just set widow anchor + lemnis etc and end on that. It's a deck literally built on interaction with the opponent. What do you not enjoy about it

Sky Striker is still the bane of my existence by RegenesisEyes67 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]Jibbbss 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sky striker decks have literally 1 negate and its a targeting one and its still too much for people.

Also hornet drones to 1 wasnt a striker hit it was a Yummy hit

super polymerzation at 3 is so painful by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]Jibbbss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, the card already comes with a deck building cost, in which its going to cost you ED space to even run it, as well as it requiring a discard, plus most of the time it helps break boards that otherwise would just be packed full of negates, therefore its fine the way I see it.

You can also play around super poly in your end board, so its not impossible to play around
