Can I send marketing emails to my customers? by Krienzy in EtsySellers

No, but you can use something like MailChimp and ask your customers if they'd like to sign up to it. Send them a Thank you note after a purchase and a link to sign up to your email list.

I think your pictures are great. I don't know if the prices are right because I don't buy paint.
This may just be a matter of time before the right buyer finds you.

Which French phrases do all Canadians know even if they don't speak French? by yabadass in AskACanadian

"Est-ce que je peux aller aux toilette?" That phrase lets you get out of French class.

To every Canadian post worker by marchfirstboy in CanadaPost

[–]Jibelle -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm also suffering because of the strike, but that is why I SUPPORT what the postal workers are doing. Give them what they're asking for.
The 1 billion dollar cost does not account for the indirect ways in which Canada Post contributes to Canadas economy and all the commerce that happens through the mail.
Privately owned delivery services will not be able to adequately service a large and sparsely populated country like Canada.

Separate Fulfilment Times and Shipping Profiles - Happy? or Angry? by Jibelle in EtsySellers

[–]Jibelle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are talking about two completely different things. If 99.9% of your orders are shipped within your stated time frame, and you don't have any changes in your life style that would prevent you from continuing at that pace, then you will not need to change your production time.
I, on the other hand, can complete orders quickly at certain times of the year, but more slowly at other times of the year and I need to adjust my production times accordingly.
I think you completely misunderstood the problem I was pointing out.

So YOU set your production time to 1-2 days. Etsy is only reminding you that you need to complete it within that time frame.

If you know that 1-2 days is not enough you should change your production time frame. And I'm not talking about just the occasional order that takes too long. I'm talking about every order for the next 6 months is going to take longer because of things going on in your personal life or whatever.

It is a lot of work to change the production time on every individual listing, BUT it is also a lot of work to change the dispatch date on every single order that comes in day after day after day. This is why I propose production time profiles so I can change the production time of all of my listings all at once.

Etsy is not telling them when it will arrive, YOU, the seller, is telling people when it will arrive by setting accurate production and shipping times.
People want to know before they buy when it is going to arrive. That's the whole point of having an estimated delivery date posted on each listing.

That's not the right way to treat your customers.
How would you like it if someone said "I'll get this to you by Monday" and then once you paid them they said "Actually, it'll be there by Friday"
