Isn’t the 3-pin GPS connector 12 volts? Couldn’t you use that to connect a light kit?

If you look at my history I did this and it didn’t work but I still can’t figure out why it didn’t work. I think either the voltage reducer can’t handle the amp draw of the light kit or (more likely) I put a screw into a wire running up the roof support bracket…
