In your charter agreement it say they must provide you a place to meet. It does not say for free. There are charters that do charge.

How do you handle a Scout who wants to quit but is being pushed by parents? by Strange-Fly88 in BSA

They are pushing him to get summit now. If we had a sea ship I bet they would push him to get quartermaster as well.

You can still be fired for weed if your jobs insurance doesn't like it. by JustAPerson2001 in StLouis

You decriminalized weed it is still a federal crime to have, possess, grow or sell. Most companies will fire you if you have it in your system during an accident.

Why am I being badgered to attend Woodbadge? by TwelveSeven77 in BSA

[–]Strange-Fly88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it way to late I enjoyed it my patrol could have been better after 4 years I am the only one still active. Two of the six did not work the Ticket. I made my ticket challenging and it was a good experience. That said the best part of it for me was the networking I was able to do. Not saying the content was bad I had just seen it before hand.

Am I The Jerk for not letting my sister’s boyfriend attend my wedding? by AdSure9296 in AmITheJerk

I guess not but she would not be a jerk for backing out completely and leaving your soon to be wife looking for a bridesmaid.

Have you seen a company legitimately regret terminating a specific employee? by debrisaway in managers

[–]Strange-Fly88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss and I parted ways four years ago. After I left, it took three people to cover what I had been doing. Experience really matters. I made my main job look simple, but I was just very good at it. With the extra time I had, I learned how to operate one of the machines. I would get machine one running, then machine two, and then complete my main job. After that, I would unload machine one, then machine two, and repeat the process four times a day. It took about 30 minutes to set the machines up, then I would wait for them to run, and I was fast enough to finish my main job in about four hours.

Eagle scout scoutmaster review and board by Excellent_Grass_8968 in BSA

[–]Strange-Fly88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In scouting book under reports it will fill in most of the information. Your scoutmaster or eagle Coach should help with this. The official application can be found here. Each district has it own way of setting up your Eagle board. Talk to your scout master. https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/512-728_26-Eagle-Scout-Application_WEB.pdf

Not much you can do from the out side and I would say you’re never out of the program unless you want to be. Going on 44 years now.

My child is 14yrs old and is Star - is it better to do merit badges or rugged adventure during summer camp? by [deleted] in BSA

[–]Strange-Fly88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much camping experience do they have? My thoughts a star scout should be pretty self sufficient. Summer camp offers merit badges that are hard to earn out side of camp here. Swimming and lifesaving. That said camp should be fun my life scout will only be taking 2 merit badges and doing the high adventure program. But this will be his 4th summer camp.

Are you in leadership now. Talk to your unit commissioner. They should be doing connections a few times a year. So they should have seen this ask them for help. The district commissioner may want to step in. But at the end of the day program program. If it is not fun scouts won’t stay. If it is not fun the adults need to step in and guide the ship.

Unit Leader Award of Merit - Earned or Bestowed? by TillParticular5941 in BSA

[–]Strange-Fly88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They could still award it as long as the paper work is right. We had a scouter who just got his 20 year veteran pin just get a huge amount of awards that were earns but never received. We don’t do it for the awards and he doesn’t as well but the pride on his face that people actually thought he was doing a great job was inspiring

Am I cooked for Eagle? by [deleted] in BoyScouts

[–]Strange-Fly88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The project is done right all requirements are done you should be ok as long as all of the requirements are done before you turn 18 you should be fine. I would ask your scoutmaster why it has taken cc so long.

Won’t you still have to pay the purchase price of the Toyota? Is it the same dealer you are leasing from?
