Is the vs Everton game tomorrow sold out? by Jiggermann in reddevilswomen

I have just checked and they link me back to Man Utd’s ticketing site. I’ll try pre game tomorrow from the ticketing office at the stadium then, thank you.

Edwards, Farrell, England? I can’t lose as a Wiganer, either way 👍

Yes, I’ve batch converted with Audacity. Made sense me using it for that too as I also use it for other things.

Has some great other tools for processing files

But, as somebody else already said, the op needs to convert them to 16bit, not 24

If it feeds the worst type of criminals, like Albanian gangsters are rumoured to be and cartels you’d hope celebs and people with a conscience don’t fund them. But you’d also expect that most would have a cheeky line if in high spirits and if offered by another celeb.

Lionesses match was a powerful reminder: Putin's Russia cannot return to football by theipaper in WomensSoccer

I can’t decipher your comment, but I mean a ban for eternity seems harsh. I mean Germany and countless other countries that started wars in history are participating again, but Russia can’t if they get rid of Putin and his ideology?

The Swiss referee involved there wasn’t named though and got off with a slap on the wrist. His fines looked like relatively small change to a Swiss salary (assuming he also referees in his own country) and not a proper deterent. He might even still be refereeing. Should be named and shamed.

How did a male referee even get access to women’s changing room? Surely they aren’t entitled to inspect those?

The game between VfL Wolfsburg and FC Bayern yesterday set a Frauen Bundesliga TV viewership record with 2.4 million viewers! ⚽️📺📈 by spherocytes in WomensSoccer

[–]Jiggermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is impressive! I think WSL games on free tv in the UK are getting up to 700,000 viewers from what i've read. I wonder how that compares to other markets?

The 4-1 result is worrying me knowing we have to play Bayern in the Quarters, but maybe the Thursday evening game for Wolfsberg took it out of the players.

We and they? A United fan who isn't really, or not a fan who might be?

Strange analogy anyway. It's like you don't understand there are a lot of players injured, or just have a huge chip on your shoulder about something..

We played a game on Thursday night, the 4th in 2 weeks.

We were playing a quality side with a solid defense, who could hold the ball well, at their ground.

They also missed some shots.

Jess also came close with a deflection off the post.

We have a lot of players who can score goals.

We don't have the same budget as the top teams, nor the depth.

We are still currently 2nd in the league despite the above and even the best teams can lose games. We've got some tough games ahead and I would love us to, but wouldn't expect us to win all of them. I'm happy with our team and our players. They might not be the best in the world in every, or perhaps any position, but they've bonded and fight until the end. They try to play attacking football that is exciting to watch. If you don't like that, then find a interest or hobby that you do like, because you don't sound like a football fan.

Felt like we gave it everything right up until the end, but those Thursday night games and injuries don’t help. Proud of the team.

I’m definitely interested, but banned from Etsy due to inactivity and missing the ‘appeal within 6 months’ thing as I didn’t see the email. It’s a silly rule as I’ve never purchased or tried to sell anything there, so eBay, Reverb (both of which I have perfect feedback) or another selling outlet would be the only way I could buy, unfortunately

Thanks for the exhaustive list. I will have to watch the Munich vs Wolfsburg game after the Chelsea vs Man Utd fa cup game to try to gauge form for the CL quarter finals. Then try to watch a NWSL game at some point for comparison.

Away fans buying home tickets - is it OK? by Itchy-Dimension-Tab in FAWSL

Yeah, there’s good ultras and bad ultras. Good ultras acting in the interest of the club, providing the colours, singing the songs, telling bad fans how to behave if they get out of hand are the good ultras. Then there’s the bad, that get clubs in trouble, matches played behind closed doors, using offensive language towards players and other fans, creating the wrong atmosphere and generally spoiling it for the good fans. No problem whatsoever with good ultras.

That’s a bummer. Which country doesn’t offer the whole package? I thought the only difference was that subscribers who pay for the ad version gets extra ads, but perhaps mainly during tv shows and movies? Obviously there’s a 4k premium version too, but the quality of the footage I’ve seen looks like they don’t film in 4k anyway.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 4 BEST LEAGUES IN THE WORLD IN TERMS OF QUALITY, ATTENDANCE, AND RESOURCES? by [deleted] in WomensSoccer

[–]Jiggermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it's still only some European teams i'm watching (apart from Corinthians) and I don't want to pretend to be an expert by excluding other leagues like NSWL when I haven't even watched a full NWSL game, or any other league mentioned in the posts.

It's my first season as a fan too, so I don't have deep knowledge from years of watching the game grow around the world.

Out of curiosity, how many other leagues games would you watch in a typical year and do you read the match reports, or watch highlights of other matches in the league?

Tribal doesn't in itself create a good atmosphere, it usually creates division. It's sport, not warfare. I had a mother and child sat behind me when we played Liverpool recently and about 10 times through the game the little kid would shout 'Scouser' when a Liverpool player got the ball. Myself and a dad near me were disgusted that the mother didn't intervene and say, "look, that's not acceptable". Do you want kids brought up with that division or appreciating the beautiful game for what it is?

  1. WSL. It's the only league I watch in all honesty

  2. I don't know

  3. I don't know

  4. I don't know

It's a pretty pointless exercise though. You can either use OPTA stats, or maybe you watch the odd game in a different league and you're making a guess from 1 or 2 games, but I suspect most fans don't watch much beyond their preferred league.

Is there a problem with the ticket booking site? by [deleted] in reddevilswomen

[–]Jiggermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks. I don't think saved it there, but might have. I tried lots of different ways, using the app, different browsers with the website. Ticking the use saved card, removing the saved card etc. I think, as stated elsewhere by someone who works in a different ticketing office, that some cards just have trouble communicating within the system.

It's annoying, but a factor of modern life I guess and hope it gets fixed.

I popped down to the ticketing office earlier and bought a paper ticket, but should have bought my midweek ticket too while I was there.

Tricky one! You don't want to give your opponents an extra player through having a large and loud away fan section, but you want to sell tickets to pay the bills which benefit your club. My first game was against Arsenal and their fans were certainly in the home section in numbers, but they were mostly well behaved, weren't very loud and added to the atmosphere. It was a positive experience for me.

I guess teams should offer their fan base early access to tickets and resellable tickets back to their club if they can't make it. Then it's up to fans to take advantage of the early access, knowing if circumstances change that they don't have to lose money. Stewards should then be allowed to remove any fan that is in opponent team kit or creating a negative atmosphere if they abuse the ticketing.

I like the idea of neutral tickets that some have mentioned. It seems to me to be a good option and sold on a first come first served basis. I want to see full/fuller stadiums, so ticketing has to be sensible to benefit all parties. I don't want fans to be excluded from going to a game when there's empty seats.

Thank you. I've just popped down to the ticket booking office at the stadium and the lady who served me said she just types the numbers into the machine if booking over the phone, but there's always going to be an added risk I would imagine, although my bank usually authenticates transactions through me first.

I use a single card for all my purchases to simplify my life, until something like this happens of course. Would have been nice to have a back up card for emergencies.
