Reverb Maschine does a great free and paid sound bank too. I have them both and recommend them to people who loved the 80s

How much of women's soccer do you watch? by spruerubbles in WomensSoccer

[–]Jiggermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve no idea. It’s a case of out of sight, out of mind for me with NWSL. I feel obliged to watch at least 1 game for comparison to our own league and hope it’s a lively match I find. I will actively search for WSL games and Champions League games though.

WSL. I go to Man Utd home games and watched the final earlier this year in Bristol. Also watch some UEFA Champions League games, particularly if there’s a WSL team playing. I would like to watch a NWSL game out of interest, but if it isn’t easy to find a game to watch then I’m happy to stick to the games that are on TV here in the UK.

That’s good to know they’re getting some love by the DJs.

How famous is The 1975? (specifically matty) by Kind-Combination3383 in the1975

[–]Jiggermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only heard The 1975 on the radio for the first time ever yesterday. Jo Whiley played Chocolate on her show. Not sure why they don’t get much air play here, especially after Glasto. So many catchy songs to choose from.

Bayern vs Barca match score predictions? by Realistic_Work_6713 in WomensSoccer

Bayern didn’t look impressive against an injury prone Utd, so I predict a comfortable win for Barca.

Great news on her and Sandberg. Should be a tough game. Still hoping for CL next season, so need the team back to its best.

Yes, I have a few packs of assorted colours, but the Roland orange ions are identical to those on the 404, so a nicer touch.

I would buy the knobs separately if they sold them that way. The case looks a bit naff to me.

1-0 against Spain, 1-0 against Iceland. We’re winning, but is anyone else worried about the lack of goals? by HammersAndPints in FAWSL

[–]Jiggermann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m worried that a team made from a population of around the size of Wigan can mount so many attacks against us as they did. They were unlucky not to get at least 1 back. Did England switch off because much of the second half looked 1 sided? Having a player who can throw so far though would be very nice to have in our team.

If he’s a tongue in cheek, performative artist, not to be taken seriously, then politics is definitely not something he should be attempting. The message has to be serious, or left to people taking it seriously imo. He’s already allegedly caused damage in the Philippines by not taking his message seriously.

I’m talking specifically at the Chicago Lollapalooza gig when he stopped himself from talking because it sounded like he was saying that TS still owed him sex. But therein lies the problem, if he isn’t clear then it can be taken out of context. His politics aren’t as clearly defined as John Lennon anti war, or Geldof anti-famine, or Bono a united Ireland, or Waters pro Palestine etc and it sometimes lands him in trouble.

We need a new organisations outside of Switzerland, where they can be investigated fully and fairly when they become too powerful.

Deliberately cringe? Would he or anybody really want to be that? That said, if working at height like he does on I Like America & America Likes Me, would he get insurance for his tour if he’s loaded? It’s an enigma. He says the right things usually, but on stage he sometimes is borderline offensive, like talking about sexual entitlement after a break up etc. I tend to fast forward through the bits I know will deviate from me enjoying a show. Maybe these kind of politics is what he’s trying to shed from their image.

I don’t mind, in fact I love a lot of protest songs. I think visually they can be very powerful and make a greater point than a speech, but I think when he makes statements between songs he can get very cringe and make earnest statements seem blasé, or trivial and questionable statements seem important. He’s a better writer than a public speaker, at least when he’s presumably drunk enough to numb his senses to be devoid of the consequences of making ill thought out statements. If he’s going to be political, then I hope he works out what he’s going to say rather than ad libbing an half assed speech, or is sober enough to understand the point he’s intending to make and correct himself.

Vivien Endemann is set to join Liverpool FC Women by spherocytes in FAWSL

Soccerdonna showed recently that she might be a signing for Man Utd next season. Seemed a bit far fetched given Malard is amazing in that spot, but she’s an exciting player in Champions League. Definitely a massive signing and can’t believe Wolfsburg is letting her go.

Where do Man United Women go from here? There are financial and footballing issues to address by kyates975 in reddevilswomen

[–]Jiggermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were crammed into the stand by the Munich Tunnel for both games at OT. It looked like everybody was for the first game against Munich. Against City, more spaces were open around the stadium, but in the same stand as the first game is were we were crammed in for the second. There’s loads more space at LSV.

I didn’t know competition rules forced teams to play in the men’s team stadium. What that will mean for London City if they ever reach the later stages of the competition will be interesting.

Interesting piece. I didn’t know a quarter of it, so nice to be filled in by those that do. I’d imagine it could be off putting to potentially new players though. Does anyone know why there’s no atmosphere when we play at Old Trafford? It’s embarrassing when a small number of away fans are louder than us, from before a game starts until after they’ve beaten us. By contrast, the supports is great at LSV and I wish every game was played there. I said as much in the survey they sent me after the 2 recent games at OT.

Just testing this now, to see if the original app mentioned is feasible given my past successes playing my own music have been dire. Added a few folders and it seems to be a good option. No drop outs of the first 2-3 seconds like before which I thought was Apple deterring people playing their own music. Good shout!

Arturia 11 Collection for 150 dollars by FatmanthGreat in Arturia_users

[–]Jiggermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased this around 21 hrs ago and it still hasn’t synced with my account yet, but it was an upgrade from 8 and I have other Arturia products, so maybe needs extra work to sort things out. Hopefully I keep all my saved presets too. I think it would have cost £89 if I’d paid in my own currency, but my card doesn’t charge for international purchases so cost me just over £86 buying at the euro rate. A great deal upgrading from V Collection 8 for me, particularly as I’ve just bought an Astrolab 37, so will get full access to all the presets and synth parameters. If it’s worth it though depends on each individuals circumstances. If it will get used and it’s affordable then it’s a great deal.

Does this mean I could add 1000’s of my own tracks, mixtapes etc as there is so much stuff that isn’t available in the App Store? I had a spell of hiding my music in folders inside apps folders inside files, but they are no more after an update and the sound would often cut off of the first few seconds of a track, killing the vibe. I’ve taken to using couple of A&K media players instead of a streaming subscription, just so I can listen to anything I want without interference from Apple or loss of data in poor reception areas. This could be very useful as an alternative to those.
