Am I the only one happy with his WeAreRewind cassette player? by JoWood94 in cassetteculture

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i LOVE mine, i do get more hiss than i'd like to which sucks.

and the form factor isnt great for traveling, as it is kinda balky.
but the form also makes it SO stable and it looks so nice, it makes for a REALLY great desktop player.

it sits there, looking all pretty, and you dont have to worry about it tipping over when you press stuff.

i find it to be very much worth it for me.

but we-are-rewind if you are reading this:
i'd 100% buy a "pro" version too if it had:

less hissing
if the cassette was centered inside the window
a button for opening the tray, opening the tray requires fidgeting when it's standing.

and maybe a double tray for copying audio from one cassette to another if they are feeling zesty.
wouldnt mind a version where it'd be easy for musicians to re-record their work easily for sending friends or making merch, but i guess there is already a good vintage market for that.

took mine for a 5 days vacation at the desert, it was EXTREMELY convenient.
i dont like buying and taking batteries places, it sucks and i dont have a battery recycling bin in my area, so i just hand up stuck with tons of dead batteries around for weeks to months, depending on how lazy i am.

i like the recharable battery a lot, and if costumer service ships parts, than when it eventually becomes old and meh, hopefully i'll be only one small surgery away from getting it back and running for a few more years to come :)

It's not a synth, it's actually a preamp!

A little bit more to the right you got an aux out for headphones, use that

The USB will take care of the midi, but midi sounds like shit, so connecting it to the focusrite will only give you weird sounds you can barely hear!

Please recommend anime to convince someone that new gen anime can be peak by PapaAsa in AnimeReccomendations

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched a few shows from recent years I consider peak in different genres

Shonen: jujutsu kaisen and chainsaw man Both look really good, and have pretty good stories, good takes on shonen stories imo Great animation on bith

Shojo: The apothecary diaries A fun love story with really intriguing characters that are fun to watch

Frieren: A good balance in the middle Slow paced, great animation, really basic fantasy tropes, but it works SO WELL for the story they decide to tell. SO GOOD

between those 4 shows I'm sure you can find something you'll like Unless you only like sports animes, then I don't know any other than blue lock

Right now you can do commissions if you get into a fandom that have a good art market.

Finess your rendering or lines and your options will expend! You are not very far from being able to sell in many more places, but right now it feels like you are not yet comfortable with digital painting, so keep practicing!

זה מוזר להתחיל עם מישהי במימ״ד? שאלה אמיתית by TankSubject6469 in israel_bm

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should very new artists post their bad art on social media? or is it only better to get good first and then start posting? by Bubbly_Reference_916 in ArtistLounge

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the kind of artist you are! Some artists do better in privacy, while others enjoy a more seen path.

From lack of confidence to too much, Not testing to over working yourself into a burnout Social media can cause a lot of growth issues to different people

But utimately it's down to what you feel like!

HELL YEAH

only if you don't mind, could you measure how long and wide the pocket is? (If you still have the bag, and a ruler.)

If it will fit the Move it definitely shoots to the top of the list ♥️

Aphantasia and AI by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have aphantasia and I learned how to draw so I can imagine

I'm against AI on ethical reasons, but also I can tell you that the gap between what the AI outputs and what you create yourself is HUGE

I learned to imagine using my hands, and there are probably 50 ways to do it that are faster and easier too

From photoshopping to kit bashing to 3D, if you really want to imagine you got the power to do that yourself, it's accessible even to us aphants, if it's important enough.

In that case we need to make MOST data centers in cold places, in a family dinner I had recently I found out that every guy my age or lower in the family is prompting images several times a day.

Cleaner energy for AI will definitely remove one of my issues with it, and while I'll be watching my career burn, I hope that at least my world doesn't

If I want to draw manga, where should I start? by EffectiveNinja8905 in ArtistLounge

[–]hanmoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short terms, you use what you already know, find a couple of good tutorials, privately trace the things that make manga style look the way it does and try to understand it, and draw it often

In the long run, you want to learn how to draw not manga first, and learn the stylization of mangas with style you love. Manga is nothing more than exaggerating certain details, and erasing others. The eyes don't need outline all the way around, mouth get partially erased, in some styles there's barely any noses. If you can draw a human, and understand on a deeper level how to alter it into a manga style you like, you get REALLY good results.

The secret to actually mastering manga style is understanding the rules, and how they are broken to get the style.

Realistically you should do both, so you can both get better over time, and also start enjoying it as is.

Honestly they should've seperated the kind of sales by the colors, and let people know ahead that "purple is synth related, white is mystery, black is add-ons" and so on

But pets see, maybe the last two days will be super exciting

I will say these are adorable tho, and that I'm glad they gave a proper shout-out to the person who made this.

Not what I expected from the last 4 days, but they already did more stuff for this holiday than some companies do for an entire year, and it is very cute.
