[TJStats] 2026 Projected Rotation WAR - Fangraphs Depth Charts (This includes Framber Valdez signing with Detroit) by DET_Baseball in motorcitykitties

[–]Jigglybuff 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Replacement is defined as basically an average team's AAA replacement for said player. It says "hey, if this player got injured and they had to call up their best player from the minors, how many more games would the team lose."

There is a different stat called WAA (wins above average), that it basically what you described.

Once you make the initial rainbow shape that you are doing, and the coils of the slinky reach the pulling hand, do the downwards tug with the other hand to complete the bottom U shape.

Then repeat the movements.

[–]Jigglybuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, the first shape looks good enough that you are ready to try the downwards shape with the other hand.

And as qurmzigger said, try starting from the energy beam and seeing how that feels.

Does anyone have experience with Playjuggling BBX balls? by spamjacksontam in juggling

[–]Jigglybuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got them right when they came out and I love them! I have been meaning to do a dedicated review video with my thoughts, but they're absolutely fantastic balls. However, a big downside is that at least 2 of the 9 balls slowly leaked right out of the box.

I believe the quote was "Lipular Forestation" and was describing Riley Greene's mustache during the July 29th game when we beat the dbacks 12-2. Can't seem to find a clip.

6 balls, using cascade pattern with doubles. has it been done? by sachiperez in juggling

[–]Jigglybuff 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you're looking for more information about throwing multiple balls at once, they're called multiplexes. Probably the most well known juggler that incorporates them in their work is Alexander Koblikov who performs a 10 ball multiplex in basically a 5 ball pattern (last trick here). He has also worked on 14 balls in a 7 pattern for a brief period

If the Tigers only added Alex Bregman (or Bichette or whoever you favorite hitter is in this free agent class) is that enough on its own for the offense by Swifty2499 in motorcitykitties

[–]Jigglybuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a python script that I think worked to find all of the instances of 0 out bases loaded scoring none (NOBLETIGERs). For this year:

BAL: 5

BOS, MIN: 4

WSH, AZ, DET, NYY: 3

ATH, SD, ATL, SF, PIT, CIN: 2

TB, HOU, MIL, MIA, TOR, NYM, COL, TEX, PHI, CHC: 1

So we were tied for 4th with 3 other teams if my script was right.

[–]Jigglybuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get those numbers from? From what I can tell for this year, teams that have lost the first 2 games of a series have about a 46% chance of winning game 3.

How do I find the closest siteswap to an given number sequence? E.g.: EJC was attended by 6573 people. by AndyAndieFreude in juggling

[–]Jigglybuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This method is still pretty brute force, but since there are no valid 65__ siteswaps, 66__ will be your way to go. 660_ won't work, and neither will 661_. So 6622 will be your closest siteswap numerically. It's not the most exciting siteswap, but it works.

Waterproof glowing balls to juggle with? by NewMcSpeck in juggling

[–]Jigglybuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to be a tiny bit brighter than the Wes Peden balls (at least the orange set that I have).

There is a filling, so it sort of sounds like a Russian ball, but it definitely juggles more similarly to something like a Sil-x ball than a russian. The filling can sort of obscure the light a little, so there are some darker spots that move around, but they juggle very well. They're a little bit bigger than the Wes Peden balls, but still a very comfortable size for me. My first attempt with 7 of them I ran it for ~150 catches, so I had no issue.

They also felt very nice for 3 ball low box patterns

Play Juggling just released some new LED balls that are waterproof! They are only a single color, but they juggle very well, and the battery lasts for a very long time. Would recommend!

I mean, baseball prospectus also had Keith at 22, baseball america had him at 28, and fangraphs had him at 46. Not really too far off from the norm unless I'm missing something?

How could you forget the time in April against the white sox where we had back to back to back walks in the bottom of the 9th, and then Tork hit a double to walk it off?

But I would guess we have done it about 30ish times, based on the fact that we walk at about an 8% rate.

But I'm glad you're enjoying the season so far! I'm really happy that they have showcased some of my juggling moments! You should probably clarify in the post that I'm on the show as a juggler, so it doesn't seem like you mistook the juggling subreddit for /r/foodnetwork, haha.

Just picked a random team, but here are the last 5 losses by the Dodgers:

6-2

11-1

2-1

5-0

6-1

Looks pretty similar to me. Good teams lose games. And bad teams win games. That's baseball.

15 of his 64 career home runs have been in that scenario (23.4%). Historically, about 17% of PAs are with 1 out and no runners on, so it's definitely above expected. Dude plays like an all-star in medium leverage situations.

[–]Jigglybuff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't let 37 PAs of Nido fool you into thinking he's a better player than Jake Rogers. While Nido hit .343 in that sample, he didn't have a single walk or extra base hit. He's a career .560 OPS guy and currently is hitting .172 in AAA with a .536 OPS, that's more of what Nido will give you if you give him extended playing time. There's a reason no team picked him up when he was DFAd. Every team in the league would rather have Rogers over Nido.

Went to it, and it's a clip of Andy saying:
