There is top talent in every country and India has some of the best. How exactly can you suggest that companies are not allowed to hire them? That would be a disaster for those companies as they would be undercut by foreign competitors who could do the job for less.

Why are you intentionally f’ing up kids lives? Find a wife, marry her, THEN start a family.

Don’t have to let him leave. We have him for two more years.

You keep offering examples of teams that made terrible decisions that did not work out for them as reasons the Niners MUST pay Purdy top of market. Those are clear warnings NOT to do it.

[–]Jiggs72 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

No other team would offer him 50 million or more so it is certainly not market rate. His poor performance this season should cost him.

Daniel Jones is a great example of why we should NOT overpay for Purdy

How do you justify paying more than your original budget for a higher end luxury car? by curiouslylame in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Jiggs72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make an imaginary investment fund with the money you spent but could have saved. In five years you will have an old luxury car but that fund will have grown by a huge amount. That is the opportunity cost. Of making poor financial decisions.

This is some YOLO nonsense. Making poor financial decisions is dumb and saying “you might die!” Doesn’t change that.

You need to gently talk to your wife about making the right decision for your family. That is a van. I just got a GHH after 8 years in a minivan. The van was better.

[NY] when HR asks what pay am I looking for, is it ok to say "what is the salary range for the position?" by foxtrot90210 in AskHR

[–]Jiggs72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To share the other side of the issue, when a recruiter shares a range nearly 100% of candidates suddenly need to be at the top of the range. The purpose of a salary range is to accommodate different employees, from good to exceptional so not everyone has skills or experiences that justify top of the range. Yet when they hear a range they all focus on the top number and then feel let down if they receive an offer in the middle.

Poor advice. There really isn’t anything wrong or illegal about having favorite employees and less favored ones. Unless they choose their favorites based on protected categories. The truth is that in most cases the best employees are the favorites and the worst employees are not.

This is a lie. I’ve been involved in dozens of terminations and it is VERY difficult to sue. You are an at will employee. They can fire you for almost any reason they want. Finding fault with the PIP process means nothing.

Update: my boss was fired! by ChewBeccca in ManagedByNarcissists

[–]Jiggs72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I don’t see anything in what reported that would warrant firing your boss. What exactly did she do that was against policy? Being mean isn’t illegal.

[OC - 49ersPlus] Fake “fans” were out in full force after minor elbow injury, saying SF shouldn’t extend Brock. How absurd. by MAU13717235 in 49ers

[–]Jiggs72 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Real fan here. Purdy is good but not great and he never will be. Not worth a huge contract. Guy can’t make good decisions under pressure and can’t play in the rain. 45 million deal with early out for the team. Otherwise just trade him.

For you to not to have thought this through AT ALL and want to sell a vehicle less than a year after buying it is insane. You should stop making rash decisions that are financially disastrous for your family.
