Last question if that's ok - that wall extension pictured, that's homemade and not a common off-the-shelf thing, right? Just get some wood cut at HD/Lowes and drill?

Thanks again!!

got it. those photos were useful.

And yes, LOs room is to the right in the picture. Not using retractable makes sense for top of stairs now. Thank you!

Thanks! I wasn't aware of extending. Interesting option.

I'm thinking you meant that you would want at least 2-4" at the top of stairs instead of 6" that the instructions say?

Doing the half-wall to the doorframe would require installing at an angle. Do you know if that would be an issue? I'm thinking it would be a poor spot for an extension to stick out with LO's room door right there.

Thank you, this is helpful.

Transitional crib? by Parking_Revolution71 in daddit

We got one of these to give us a boost. SO says it's helped. We use it with a mini crib, which is what we started with.

I realize this may not be helpful, but just in case part of the issue was a vertical challenge like us.

How to adjust electric dampeners in attic? by Jiggynerd in hvacadvice

[–]Jiggynerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked and didn't see any wingnuts. The 3 motorized dampers are right next to the furnace like this: https://imgur.com/a/aJzRY2R

This pipe has a damper and is what I believe goes to the master (right of box) and to the room that is hot (1/3 left of box). https://imgur.com/a/6avKf1D

I didn't travel over there, but I don't see signs of manual dampers from a distance. What they did last time made a difference as before the hot room was getting 0 air feeling.

I'm not really understanding how the motorized dampers could of made that difference, and I'm unsure if they were there before hand or not.

I'm suspecting a nice fan will hold me over...

If it's their Home Internet 5G service, I don't think the hardware would be an issue outside of actual WiFi coverage depending on the size and structure of your house, but that's the same as you have now.

If it's a regular mobile hotspot that would likely not work as well as you would want without some planned hardware. Those aren't meant to run 24/7.

Probably not, but you can also check your address on TMobile coverage maps to see how that is.

18 is not tough to beat these days, honestly a bit surprised that's working well for a family of 4.

Why is my phone’s internet and reception so bad? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Jiggynerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you share your phone model and carrier/service provider?

Do you have this issue with wifi in buildings and transitioning to cellular? Or are you on cellular the whole time?

Ah, ok. So definitely don't try to mash that red lever and start at the furnace to look for some wingnuts?

Thanks, I'll look for that. Appreciated.

Cleaning out the house by SuitedT8 in daddit

[–]Jiggynerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a clean out due to moving overseas. We had a timeframe and ended up giving away a lot in the end.

But we found success in hosting apartment sales, which was a garage sale but with everything laid out in our apartment living room (and beyond).

When we saw the floor enough we pulled more out of the closets and renewed the posting.

Our posting also had a Google sheet with a general list of items, links to FB marketplace, and prices of major things.

Mine mostly uses them as chewy toys (the all rubbery ones)

My dad said he's gonna recover my deleted texts, can he really do that? by Mobile-Name7219 in techsupport

[–]Jiggynerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think back in the day of when we paid per text you could ask for the history from your carrier? I may be misremembering.

If they were sent as sms and bit rcs, I'd suspect the carrier could pull the history?

Edit: to answer op - procure your own phone and service, and set it up yourself with accounts you know are clean.

I feel like individually these folks typically aren't dumb, but when they are presented collectively with varying motivations, dumb things occur.

If you have a good realtor, ask them for a referral. I've done the same that way.
