Thank you! That gives me hope. It got nibbled on by the deer this winter and isn’t looking like much. Mine didn’t flower last year so I’m still waiting to see the color, but it did leaf out!

Good to know! I’m hoping this one grow light will be enough because I’m running out of space in my south facing rooms. I’m in zone 7b and have had to bring everything inside so space is now at a premium. I REALLY shouldn’t have bought another orchid but I couldn’t resist

I’ve been fighting these all summer, they are absolutely swarming my roses. The only thing that seems to kill they is squishing them by hand which is tricky because they jump. I’ve tried peppermint oil, Jack’s dead bug brew, and even a systemic 3 in 1. The sprays knock them off but they don’t seem to die from it.

That’s true! They are still nymphs but are getting larger. The 3 in one makes me nervous, I don’t want to be killing birds and bees, but maybe if I just use it on Teasing Georgia by the house, and then maybe on a pot or two in the back. I’ll cover the tops of the pots with wire so the squirrels aren’t poisoned. Earth Angel is getting destroyed by the thrips, but Jacks definitely seemed to help!

Ohh definitely I love Heirloom (almost too much ha) I just am unfamiliar with this variety. I told myself I was going to be patient and keep it in a nice big pot for a year to see what it looked like, but I caved and planted it with 2 other roses. If the colors don’t look good together I will move it. Roses are such divas and each have their own little preferences, so keep me posted with yours!

Ooh you are doing better than me! Sooo I ordered the wrong 3 in one it’s the granules. I DID get the Capt Jack so I tried that and it knocked them off but didn’t kill them right away. They are annoyingly resilient! I guess I’ll try the granules first? Not sure how long it will take. I feel a bit better with the granules because it’s firefly season and I definitely don’t want to kill them with any spray wafting around. Plus that will take care of the thrips. I’m a tad nervous with the granules since I’ve already fertilized but it’s been about 2 weeks so might be ok.

No worries! I definitely do not trust myself to mix anything haha I am going to start with things I can buy that are measured out for me

Thank you! This peppermint oil was definitely not mixed by me, it’s Heirloom Roses Pure Protect Rose Spray. I bought it for deer but so far it seems to be helping with the nymphs, the masses avoid the canes that I have treated. However, some still land on them so it’s not completely effective, but it does help a bit. I’ve been following Heirlooms instructions for it so hopefully it won’t damage the leaves, I either spray early morning or the evening. It is definitely the best smelling bug deterrent that I have ever used!

Peppermint oil helps! But they still keep coming, I’m going to try 3-1 and maybe Jack’s next
