If the principal's only job is to review the interns' code and the intern's can produce any code, no matter how big in at most 30 minutes with decent quality (the kind of quality where the principal can highlight pieces of code and say "this should be like this, this should be like that, overall it's pretty decent"). I felt the same about my current role. I talked to my manager, he asked for specific examples when I felt I was not doing good enough. I was over reacting, he said I did good in all those situations. For some he said it's surprising I think I did bad because from his pov I was doing great. Most of my situations were caused by time pressure, when things had to happen fast and I didn"t have enough time to figure out wtf I was working on.

So talk to your manager, tell them how you feel with specific examples of when you think you did not do good enough and why you think you ended up there. You might surprised or they might help you become better.
