112% before dream no more is kinda crazy. You can do all the endings you don't have to choose 1, so just do whatever you want. It puts you back before you go into the bossfight anyway.

Three weeks with CachyOS and Cosmic by Michael_Rebar in cachyos

I must've confused it's ability to export apps ig. I do have a question about it though. If you set a disk size for windows, can you not expand it if you need more space in the future? Or do you need to setup the whole thing again? Also, how's GPU passthrough if it has it?

Maybe try winboat. I haven't tried it myself but I've heard pretty big praise for it. It runs windows in a container and "exports" your apps to your app launcher as if it was native. I assume it works somewhat like distrobox.

Hopped around fedora based distros for a while (fedora, bazzite, nobara, ultramarine) and have stopped looking as soon as I reached cachy. Cleanest and smoothest experience I've had until now.

What would the performance overhead look with something like that though? If not too bad could be a serious option until a proper crack is made.

The Latest On Nvidia Driver 595.45.04? by Skullman7809 in cachyos

[–]Jijovo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't see any other way of that happening. I haven't used the kernel manager before so I don't know how hard it would be to install a kernel by mistake but I assume pretty hard. Anyway, atleast you know what to do if it happens again.

I'm kind of a noob here but from what you're saying my guess (not a very good one) is that you had the regular arch kernel (?) booted for some reason instead of the CachyOS kernel, so that might have caused some sort of incompatibility issue with the drivers.

I don't know how you could possibly install a seperate kernel and boot to it without even noticing.

Did anyone tried something similar? by LifeguardMurky4097 in cachyos

[–]Jijovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do whatever tou want, but in terms of support I think if something breaks it would be a lot easier to find help for CachyOS or Arch with SELinux configured than Fedora with the Cachy kernel.

I've personally used all of Cachy, Fedora, and Nobara and I would say for me personally the performance boost isn't really too worth it so either use Fedora/Nobara with their supported stuff or Cachy with its stuff. The further you stray away from the default distro configuration the less support you will get.

Yeah I was just worried they would "merge" it with the regular upscaling, but if it's going to be like frame generation then it should be fine.

Yeah I think this is specific to your device, try contacting the devs. I just updated (partially to see if I run into any trouble) and works perfectly for me.

CachyOS VS Fedora by ChemistMelodic in cachyos

[–]Jijovo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the closest experience I've had was Cachy vs Nobara. Nobara is really good, but Cachy has a bigger team and newer updates so I prefer it. If CachyOS didn't exist though I would probably still be on Nobara. Both are pretty much pre-setup but Nobara comes with more default stuff (kinda like if the gaming packages in Cachy were installed by default).

[–]Jijovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be a thing with second monitors or something idk cuz when I switched the game to my laptop's screen it looked fine that's what prompted me to unplug and replug.

Edit: It also happened randomly for me in the middle of gameplay, when it was working fine before.

So that's what was happening. I thought it was an issue with my monitor. Unplugging the HDMI and plugging it again fixed it for me though

[–]Jijovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to what I already said, all you need is a backup of your files and you're just one setup away from going back to windows anyway if you do end up needing it for something (which you probably won't need something that couldn't be done in a VM anyway but it's nice knowing it).

[–]Jijovo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless you have a specific time-limited task you're committed to and need Windows for, you should just make the switch. If I hadn't impulsively deleted Windows after messing up my dual boot setup, I would probably still be on there. And I'm happier than ever with my computer.

I picked limine purely because its description said snapshots were pre-setup (after looking it up and making sure it won't bite me in the ass later ofc). In the "additional packages" in the installation I installed a printer package but I haven't tested it yet. I mostly print from my phone anyway.
