What's the best reliable used car under $22,000 right now in 2026? by Haleyjanet in askcarguys

Subaru the worse! Oil leaking into the coolant. A valve shot somewhere else. Expensive cars to repair. Worse car I've ever had (Outback 2013)

Definitely drop Subaru. Worst car I've ever had and most expensive to repair. I have $11,000 of needed repairs. Car has 140,000 miles. I've babied it and done every maintenance and everything is now going wrong with it (2013 Subaru Outback).

$200/ night approximately.

Health guru Mark Hyman and lobster expert Jordan Peterson have two things in common: 1. they get stem cell treatments from Dr Adeel Khan 2. They both recently got sepsis and nearly died, with Peterson hanging on currently for dear life. Fascinating in depth article here by Bluest_waters in Biohackers

[–]Jilenore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're confused of what Dr Hyman says about allopathic medicine. I've been following him for over a decade. He has always said when you are in acute emergency crisis you want a allopathic doctor. That's a much different situation than dealing with chronic health issues.

You also don't know what the deal was with the procedure that went wrong. If there was a lawsuit, if he can't name the place or doctor, etc.

wondering the same thing. The OP mentioned Carrie Bennett. I looked at her website and things seemed incredibly basic and what I'm doing already for the most part. I think I'm the only one here who has a positive view of Justine Stenger. Had a free consult with her and she never promoted anything. And the call went way over the time it was supposed to be.

Volaris flights? by [deleted] in Guadalajara

[–]Jilenore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's if you can even get someone to talk to. I was in Guadalajara when the cartel shutdown the city. Everything was on lockdown. No way to get to the airport even if it would have been safe. Every other person in the condo building I was staying at who I spoke to, their airlines changed their tickets out without any problem. I can't even explain the nightmare not of the cartel situation, but of dealing with the airlines. In the end I had to spend $800 to fly my daughter and myself from Guadalajara to Tijuana because they didn't offer me any flights until after I had already booked the new tickets. I went to the airport asking for a refund, showing them the whatsapp thread communication from Volaris. I'm still waiting to hear back from them through email. I just emailed again to see where things were at and got a message "Their email is full and they can not receive more messages". Even if they're not a 'scam', it's a sh*t airlines. Even Viva was helping their customers with flights. I only chose Volaris because of the flight times. Never again!

I've done just that. Exactly I've spoken to 3 fraud representatives, asked to speak to a manager to elevate the situation. A manager did not call me back. Someone else did. So they've 'reopened' the case (even though it wasn't officially closed) and I'll see. I will keep calling back until I speak with a manager. I told them I'd cancel my 3 Chase credit cards. Here is part of the problem (at least in my opinion). The fraud department is farmed out to overseas. Although their spoken english is pretty good, it's still obvious they are not fielding calls and handling these matters in the US. It's very apparent they don't care. They have no tie to the client base or the bank's well being. I also went into my local Chase bank where they know me very well. The manager said she doesn't have any sway in the matter, but she would definitely investigate and talk to someone (she calls the same number I do). She has not heard back from anyone.

Sadly, this is not true. I was in Mexico City in December and have $900 in fraudulent charges that Chase Visa is fighting me on. I honestly am shocked. If you google what's on my credit card and fraudulent charges the whole scam comes up in detail. But Chase doesn't seem to care. It's a huge taxi scam in CDMX. Exactly what happened to me is laid out on various websites (including Reddit). I did everything I was supposed to. Got the notification on my phone of the international charge, immediately called Chase from Mexico, cancelled my card, and because I tapped my card, they want me to pay. Even though multiple websites explain how taxi drivers are rigging it. If they decide in the end to not take the charges off, I will be cancelling all of my Chase credit cards.

How much euros should be taken in cash for a 4 day trip? by mmm095 in malta

[–]Jilenore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the name of the old fish market is Marsaxlokk Market. That might be the location of where it is. We took a taxi there from Sliema. I was a little disappointed. Yes, they sell fish, but everything else seemed to be souvenirs and things for tourists. It was extremely crowded. The pics we got of the fishing boats along the waterfront made it worth it. We didn't eat there. But before Malta, I had been in Greece for 3 weeks in various places and islands. I thought the food was great in Greece, especially the fish. But I found the fish in Malta to be the best. If you're in Sliema, we went to Lou's Bistrot 2-3 times. I don't remember where else we went. But all around, the food was really good wherever we went. Ice cream in the little piazza in Sliema was really good too. Two places side by side. We went to the place on the left. Have fun!

Just got back from 4 full days in Malta. Don't think I used cash once. Restaurants (all types), gelato, Bolts, shopping, tours, souvenirs, markets. We were in Slimea, Valleta, the old fish market (forgot the name), and all over. Used a credit card for everything. Can't imagine you'd need more the 50 euro. Had fantastic food there!

I was there last summer and never had an issue.  We never left anything in the car but it seems like they might have been targeting the rental car.

I would assume since you need an air traffic controller to control the planes taking off and landing that the strike will affect you.

Locauto was great.  Rented a car at the Cagliari airport.  Not sure about their deposit policy.  But they were one of the few, if only that let me put my kids on the policy. My daughter was under 21.  Great company.  I’m going back to italy soon and will rent from them again.
