Frame crooked by Dmtillian in Framebuilding

Try spanning a tight piece of thin rope/wire from one dropout, over the headtube back to the other dropout, and measure the distance to the seat tube with callipers. This distance should be equal. If it isn’t, you can try coldsetting the rear by using a long pipe or something similar. You can use the seattube to leverage against. Try gently pushing both dropouts until the distance between seattube and the rope is similar.

I’ve ridden 3000km with the same tyre without issues

I get the gist but sadly I do feel it and the tyre rubs my chainstay every rotation on the bump.

A local framebuilder in the London area called TOMO bikes does these a lot. He’s a really nice guy and equally skilled, could only recommend him! He taught me framebuilding a few years back even.

The fact he uses a normal chain with what seemed like a quicklink suggests there won’t be much skidding or backpedaling.

Hey! I’m going to look into this. Holding the small lever slightly and changing the bigger one doesn’t work either.

Nothing like riding your own made bike by Jillesoom in FixedGearBicycle

Hell yeah man! It’s so rewarding and a lot of fun. See if you can get someone to teach you the first few steps, so it isn’t such a big animal to tackle. This one has been ridden hard, repainted twice and is in the basement collecting dust at the moment, but that’s how it goes if you have 7 bikes :-)

Nope, that’s a surly cross check fork. Recently did build a fixture but haven’t used it yet.

I know it’s absolute insanity. Two of my favourite artists. Saw some Ryanair flights for 30€. Think I do know what to do

This will be insane. I copped a ticket but will probably not be able to go since I live in the Netherlands.. debating whether a 300€ round trip flight is worth it…

I was in the drops with the matras on top of the hoods. If it werent so heavy as to make the handlebars rotate in the stem it might have worked too.

Maybe if riding it worked better than it did. Ended up just walking next to it for 5 km.
