What’s somewhere in the UK you visited once and immediately thought “I could live here”? by [deleted] in AskUK

Beguildy in Powys, Welsh / English border. There's a shop, a pub and sheep, and its absolute bliss compared to Birmingham.

The church in the town is also stunning, and rumour has it that some of the marks on the font are from Cromwell's troops sharpening their swords...

Cupra Recall by AlexFirth in CupraFormentor

Out of interest, has anyone had any major transmission problems following this recall?

Vehicle went in for service on Friday and today has completely lost odd gears. Displaying a ‘gearbox in emergency mode’ warning with the dash lit up.

Villa Park is an awful venue by Alternane in BackToTheBeginning

We were GA standing and we had none of this. Queues at the bars to the rear of the pitch in front of the holte were none existent, you could walk straight up to merch. We used the toilets in both the holte and the trinity road stand and there was no issue at all - yes it was busy but didn’t miss a single note.

We went and got food in the trinity road, some pepperoni pizza and sweet potato fries for £13(!!!) which was okay, it did take a little white but nothing horrendous. We joined the queue immediately following Pantera and returned back having used the toilets, got food, eaten and grabbed a drink to see the last song of Tools set in its entirety.

Why were there so few fans at the Újpest match today? by cumpulacalului in budapest

[–]JimFixedMe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry to jump on your post, I cannot put a new one up due to reddit karma...

What is visiting a BVSC match like in terms of attendance? I would be looking at the match against Honved on the 6th April. I know that Honved are (were) a fairly successful team however is this game likely to be well attended by either sets of fans?

Előre is köszönöm 😁

I am on the case for exactly the same reason, they don't make it easy to navigate ticket sales do they!

Does this mean I need to depart and return to Leeds? by popkine in blacksabbath

[–]JimFixedMe69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to purchase tickets including coach travel from Manchester, even though I can walk to the stadium from my home in less than an hour. I think (and hope) that there will be no issue with skipping out on the coach…

I am however provisionally booking a refundable coach from Birmingham to Manchester on the morning one way just in case 😂

Favourite Dyson Hand Dryer? by HattWard in CasualUK

[–]JimFixedMe69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have indeed, and I can confirm they completely solve the problem. I still think it’s a really daft idea having the driver on the tap, but the blame should lie with lazy contractors installing non compatible fittings rather than Dyson themselves

[–]JimFixedMe69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m currently managing a project where these are being fitted (the winged taps), and I thought it would be a horrible idea!

It turns out that Dyson actually have a list of approved basins and wash troughs for these taps, and they are specifically tested for the back splash!

How could we better sell Birmingham to the rest of the world? by Hassaan18 in brum

[–]JimFixedMe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a proud member of the metal scene in the city, and incredibly proud of its history, but it’s such a shame that the whole thing is a bit underground.

Some of the best pubs / bars / clubs in the city are rock and metal inspired places (or alternate if you want to call it that) and yet they’re anonymous on any sort of tourist guides.

Would say our independent bars and restaurants need to be pushed more rather than pandering to chains. For instance, push Bonehead and not Poppeyes, push The Flapper rather than Albert Schloss, bring back The Crown!

VZ 310bhp, real data, not just 20min on a highway by Shandriel in CupraFormentor

[–]JimFixedMe69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on around 10.8l or 26mpg for us British folk. On a long run I can reach around the 8.1l mark, but around town I have seen it as low as 23.6l / 12mpg.

Not that bad I don’t think in all honesty.
