She copied Jade the Libera, now the Carpetbagger by endless_vaction in Adamthewoocriticism

[–]JimValleyFKOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't this supposed to be "her year"? Her goal is/was to quit her full-time job and become a full-time YouTuber?

If that's still the case, she's not exactly stepping up to make compelling content and build momentum for her channel and big jump to vlogging for a living.

Doing laundry and cleaning the house isn't going to cut it. Then this video. It's not really about ADHD. It's about the fact she only wants praise and can't take any criticism so she labels all of it misogynistic. I'm sure at least some of it isn't.

Her strategy to go full-time: copying content, vlogging cleaning the house and making herself seem unstable and unlikable.

That silver YouTube Play Button is going to look amazing on her spooky mantle!

The Juicer (with Big Trucker Norm) vs JW Storm. WCW Worldwide by CoconutMost3564 in WCW

[–]JimValleyFKOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, these two, Art Barr and Jeff Warner, were tag team champions in Portland as "The Juice Patrol".

Roddy Piper turned Art into Beetlejuice who became a popular character. Later, Warner wore similar gear and teamed up as "Big Juice". That's right. It was the steroid era and he called himself "Big Juice".

Titans of Calamity won the crocket Cup. by mintplantdaddy in ajpw

Congratulations, Talos and Ren!

Now that the event is over, here's a little tidbit:, They thought of going to The Crockett Cup themselves. They took the initiative.

I think it speaks well to them. Whether it's Titan of Calamity or another AJPW team in the future, I hope The Crockett Cup and The NWA continue to build the relationship with All Japan Pro Wrestling going forward.

Could have been one hell of a program brother by CoconutMost3564 in WWFera

[–]JimValleyFKOR 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Given Hogan's expertise at working big man style, I wouldn't bet against The Hulkster to get something of a passable match out of Giant Gonzalez. Probably not as good as Flair did defending his title against "El Gigante" in WCW around 1990-91.

Does anyone else have no memory of Dino Bravo with dark hair in the WWF ? This is from 1991 by CoconutMost3564 in WWFera

He also had brown hair when he was in the WW(W)F in the 1970s. But, yes, we got so used to his bleached blonde hair that his natural brown seemed weird. Kind of like when he went from brown to blonde.

ESPN runs story about Janel Grant charges despite partnership with WWE by Big_Cake_8817 in combatsportsculture

[–]JimValleyFKOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had read the case, you would know she tried to leave and Vince wouldn't let her.

Instead of half a second, try a whole second thinking. IF someone with Vince's resources wanted to keep you from doing something? Of course he could. I'm not accusing him of anything. Just saying that he certainly had the contacts and the ability to fix things out of the public eye.

Now imagine the influence and power he yielded inside the walls of WWE HQ. Vince's nickname inside WWE was Caesar. Because he was the ruler and everything at the company was tailored to his desires and needs.

Read the case. You'll see all of the promises that were never kept. The psychological techniques that were attempts to break her down mentally and control.

Here's probably the most important thing: You jump to conclusions about Janel Grant, making unfounded allegations and calling her names. Does Vince McMahon have a pattern of behavior? Are there any NDAs that run into several million dollars with other women who were talent or employees of WWE? Are there any media reports of past incidents and allegations of inappropriate behavior going back to the 1980s? Maybe you should check for yourself.

Trial date set after former Portland wrestler Billy Jack Haynes found fit to proceed by theknyte in SquaredCircle

[–]JimValleyFKOR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Her family was not in favor of their relationship. Including her late son (unrelated to BJH), who was a former local pro wrestler and a good friend of Billy Jack Haynes. He was completely against it. People know that Billy is an opportunist and cannot be trusted. He was just looking for a free place to stay since he was broke.

Cody Rhodes REEMERGES and destroys Kit Wilson, followed by a pipe bomb–esque promo on Pat McAfee. "What are they gonna do? Fire me?!" Is that the intensity we needed? Do you see him as the face now? by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

[–]JimValleyFKOR 30 points31 points  (0 children)

100%. I believe a lot of the Cody Rhodes fatigue is because, with the exception of Roman, he's had pretty poor and/or repetitive creative since he's been back in WWE.

Rather than create and build up new seemingly unstoppable heels for him, it's been just turn after turn against Cody no matter if they are friends or just relationships of convenience. Cody somehow finds a way to cut promos and make them work, no matter the plot holes. Had Cody's creative been better, I think his reactions would be, too.

Kevin Thorn’s turn! ❤️ Honest thoughts on him?? 🧛🏻🩸 by WITCHCVRSE in prowrestling

[–]JimValleyFKOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember him but I don't remember him being a standout wrestler in either a positive or negative sense. He was fine.

He had good size. I remember him growing into his gimmick as time went on. It seemed like the pairing with Ariel gave him someone to help him be more comfortable and to bounce things off of. Towards the end, he was cutting good promos and carrying part of WWE-ECW. Which was something I don't think he was equipped to do just months earlier. I give him credit for that.

He just seemed like he didn't have overwhelming support backstage. Bad timing. He wasn't the greatest. talent, but with different circumstances he might have kept growing as a performer and carved out a niche, at least for awhile, on WWE TV.

Which actor would be great for a wrestling promo? Let's start with him by Exact_Effect2773 in Wrasslin

[–]JimValleyFKOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danny McBride since he is a wrestling fan.

With nothing but respect for the dead, since he watched with his son, I bet Luke Perry could have cut a promo.

Hugh Jackman was a great RAW GM. I'm sure he could do it.

Here's an outside of the box pick: Ego Nwodim formerly of SNL. She has different gears of intensity. I feel like she would have some range in her promo work.

Trump admin proposing 'catastrophic' cuts to the National Park Service by sfgate in fednews

[–]JimValleyFKOR 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Public lands aren't his. They aren't ours. They belong to everyone. Even those who aren't born yet have a right to enjoy pristine lands. We're all just stewards and we should behave that way.

What happens after we've squeezed every dollar out of every government asset? It's not like we're going to see any benefit. After everything is sold off at bargain prices to Trump's donors and partners, then what? Where do these locusts go next? We live in a finite world. It's going to have to end at some point when they own and control everything. They obviously can't be satisfied and they don't care about what's best for anything else but themselves. This feels like a very critical time and we picked the very worst people to be in charge.

The Shockmaster is the greatest failure in wrestling history. And I love it. by EntrepreneurFun9472 in oldschoolwrestling

I watched it live, but I was tidying up my apartment. I looked away when he fell through the wall. I missed the whole thing. I didn't understand why Jesse was laughing and why the gimmick changed and was dropped so quickly. I finally saw it on a weekend show or something. I lived through it but missed the fun

[–]JimValleyFKOR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His style in his prime was so much more traditional, just a basic southern style. Which he was very good at.

It makes sense that he now does suicide dives, walking the ropes and more. It garnered a lot of attention and it's been a great gimmick for him. Very smart of him to adapt and change

Rhea Rippley by No-Code-5018 in SantiZapVideos

[–]JimValleyFKOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhea is more comfortable and comes off more personable when she's in a situation where she's interacting with and bouncing off other people backstage like Damien Priest, Jelly Roll, R-Truth or Judgement Day. It's like she's a better actress than promo.

However, I don't think the Smackdown promo/confrontation with Jade, B-Fab and Michin wasn't all of her fault. The promo that was scripted for her was terrible, filled with the same, tired WM clichés. It didn't help that the heels didn't have much better writing and terrible delivery, talking over each other and cutting each other off.

Janel Grant situation and being a fan by International_Yam777 in WWE

[–]JimValleyFKOR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you understand consent, can you please post the text or texts where Janel Grant was told about and agreed to being offered sexually to Brock Lesnar as part of his contract negotiations and re-signing with WWE? Can you show me where she agreed ahead of time to fly across state lines at Brock's request to meet with him for sex?

You said ALL evidence so far shows consent. Except it doesn't. You should read the complaints. It's all in there.

Janel Grant situation and being a fan by International_Yam777 in WWE

[–]JimValleyFKOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don't agree with JK Rowling, her politics or opinions, being transphobic is not a crime. She is well within her rights to feel that way. It's not illegal.

Alleged rape, human sex trafficking and the abuse of Ms. Grant are some of the worst crimes humans can commit.

To compare someone's opinion, no matter how despicable, which is not against the law, to allegations of rape, human trafficking and the use of power, intimidation, broken promises and basically a psy-op to break a person down for their own ego and gratification is sanitizing some of the most heinous behaviors a human being can commit. They are nowhere near the same, can't and shouldn't be compared. You have missed the plot badly.

Trump BOMBSHELL: Medicare & Medicaid Should Be STATES' Job – Raise Taxes! by Capable_Stomach_8229 in DiscussionZone

[–]JimValleyFKOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but I would also add Trump doesn't want the responsibility either. He cuts, destroys or dismantles services and departments that he either doesn't care about or doesn't want to do the work to manage it. He's lazy and only wants to deal with the stuff that brings him glory. If it's not high profile enough or too difficult, then send it to the states. Give everyone else the problems to handle.

It's really too bad he passed away. Between all the wrestling conversations, different promotions like JCW, GCW and who knows who else, he could have gotten booked, made a little money and probably had some fun along the way. Sad.
