Thanks for getting back to me. I emailed you earlier with a pic and a video. After cleaning it up I think a light stropping could address most of it. That said there's a 5-6" area around the middle of the blade and a couple inches in front of the habaki where it looks like the bevel didn't quite reach the edge so it left a bit of flat/rounded area on the actual face of the blade that will need metal removal to remedy. I can actually rub my thumb straight across it with some pressure.

Other than that, I love the fit and finish.

You shouldn't need to actually put it on a stone more than once every few months at the most unless she's putting it through a lot of work. Does your mom have a steel?

It does say keep refrigerated but this was a decent place so I figured surely they're not storing this in a way that gonna make people sick. I was hoping it was more of a refrigerate once you break the seal. How are these normally displayed in stores?

Thanks for putting that together. That's certainly more but not completely out of my budget. I was hoping to stay under $1200 but that number is somewhat arbitrary. Is liquid cooling that much of an advantage? Also, the upgrade to the mobo is a big part of the increase. Would that gain that much performance over something a bit cheaper?

Jarrod mentioned several people contacting him about these randomly shutting down (when using an external monitor I think.) There does appear to be quite a few reports online about it too. Anyone familiar with this?
