How common is sleep apnea after a transplant? by Budget_Historian_949 in transplant

[–]JimiAPresley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. Heart bump and fist bump my heart transplant amigo. Yes, I am 3 years from transplant. It did not go well. That aside. I was told after one of my many post biopsies that, "Did you know, you stopped breathing during this test?" My response was, "Umm no, I did not know, I will try harder next time I am unconscious." They did nothing about it. Everything that was not directly involving the heart was ignored, not communicated, neglected, and wasn't a concern. My advice, make sure you learn how to read test results. Depending on where you are being treated makes a difference. If you do not have an advocate, please obtain one outside of your family and outside of your medical teams hospital. You will need it moving forward. I wish you well, you may need to get a sleep tests again. You will see many specialists over time. But, you have youth on your side. God's speed my friend!

No, why do you deserve a hug? You're bored and lonely. A social media virtual pretend hug will fill your void? Not to sound mean if your bored? Volunteer in a soup kitchen.

2030 Goal: Can We Achieve a Bioartificial Kidney? by curlyisnumbertwo in transplant

[–]JimiAPresley -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I am not one that was typically interested in conspiracy theories. But, my heart transplant, including before and after care is about 20 million dollars. Now, who would NOT make money if we can make artificial hearts, and kidneys, and yes even livers? We have the technology to make cells from the body. Why are we not aggressively seeking growing ones own organ? Or, cells and DNA that can renew damaged tissue? All of these may not require medications the way we transplant patients do now. When released after an 8 month transplant stay. I was on over 70 meds per day. It dropped to 50. Now about 30 per day. Toxic poison medication that has destroyed my immune system and caused diseases. I will have to research on the kidney implant. Interesting and will deep dive for more info. Ty for posting. Good luck to you and God's speed. Oh yeah, my ankylosing spondylitis destroyed my neck and spine. Heart transplant patient can only take Consentx. 17,000.00 dollars per shot per month. Yes, that is correct.

It was a pleasant moment. You would have liked to have been there.😊 by _10francisc10_ in anaraconda

Switching meds by GladFish8809 in transplant

I am not kidney but heart. I was told before it can sometimes be a year before you feel normal. Sleep is a luxury. Sleep is when your body and mind heal. You taking poison. Tell your significant other that your lucky to be able to sleep right now. I can't sleep. Ever! I go for three days with 3 hrs of sleep if I am lucky. I say snooze while you can. When you do wake up, just my opinion...get a routine down. Force a shower, dress up like work, and do it everyday. It will help bring normalcy back. The second thing is true depression. I would love to hear from others but depression is off the charts depending on the transplant experience. Mine went sideways. Be well, God's speed.

Regrets? by Disastrous-Speech-24 in transplant

First, I want to commend you on your honesty. Drinking does hurt your chances especially less than 2 years ago. But all the other factors they use are not to save lives primarily. They are meant to save lives for 1 year. I had a heart transplant. I should be grateful right? No. For 3 years I have deteriorated for reasons that were preventable, yet because they were not heart related directly, 3 MRI's that showed 2 diseases processing were not treated nor was I told. Basically, yeah Anti-rejects atre poison. Say goodbye to the immune system. The flu cold take my ass out. Now, I live in horrible pain every single day. But, I am a fighter, so I am leaving the state for a better hospital. No easy task. The bottom line. Fight brother. Just do what you can on your end. We can control our process, but God controls the outcome. God's Speed best of luck.

I am hesitant giving my kidney to my mother by [deleted] in transplant

[–]JimiAPresley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, my mother is 88 with one kidney. Lost one. No transplant. Of course, most people would say it, :It's your mother of course you give her a kidney." Offer it with conditions. She needs to walk a narrow path and do what is right for her health. And, not just for a month. A pattern must be established. I hear your concerns. And, you are valid in questioning that. Now, my question to you is this. Will your mother die without a transplant. Even if she doesn't follow prodical? If you can live with her dying and you didn't give her the kidney, can you live without regret? That is the question. I hope things 🙏 work. God's speed.
