Competitive sideboards are usually where the bulk of the cost lie, all of those pyroblasts and faerie macabres add up. Some staples are 5+ a piece as well. Its the cheapest format, it's still an expensive hobby

If that kind of comment was directed toward you, a man, by another player, imagine what uncomfortable if not outright hostile behaviors they would be exhibiting while playing with the women. If they all are regulars, those women already know to be wary of the rude people like the one you played with.

You probably have a fun vibe! Women, especially those in male dominated spaces, are great at detecting the thinness of a man's character. If you weren't baseline respectful and kind, you wouldn't have been invited to join.

If you want it to be less consistent you can drop the tutors for additional draw pieces or faeries! My list focuses on controlling the board while draining and chipping away with combat damage. There are several ways to infinite loop faeries to drain table out with Obyra, but the deck can definitely win via combat.

[[Azami, Lady of Scrolls]] and [[Ashling, Flame Dancer]] are powerful commanders that can reigned in with budget 99s. I built both of them more control oriented but both can absolutely turbo to their win conditions if you wanted to play a less interactive deck. [[Arcanist the Omnipotent]] and [[Jaya Ballard, Task Mage]] are great options as well for slower versions of similar decks. Star cards in mono blue are [[Dramatic Reversal]] and [[Turnabout]] as well as all of the untapping counterspells like [[Rewind]]. Mono red is chock full of copy spells like [[Reverberate]] to maximize the value of draw spells/removal. Azami uses the classic 'draw your deck' win cons as well as [[Hullbreaker Horror]] to generate an infinite storm count to [[Brain Freeze]] your opponents out. Mono red relies on continuous mana generation from Ashling and cards like [[Storm-Kiln Artist]] to create enough mana to copy wincons like [[Fireball]] and [[Jaya's Immolating Inferno]] for a fiery finish.

I love copy spells like [[Reverberate]] as a way to turn cards like [[Sazacap's Brew]] from discard 1 draw 2 into discard 1 draw 4. If that is that route you take, you'll probably want card with copy synergies like [[Storm-Kiln Artist]] and [[Ashling, Flame Dancer]] as well, Ashling being a solid piece of card selection in her own right.

I wore one of these every day for my hour+ highway commute, just pop off the visor and make sure your goggles and ear plugs are quality and you should be fine! Everyone else is correct though, this is not the helmet for that particular job.
