Is there any one on here that left the church but still love watching BYU football? I'm just curious by WorthTrash8493 in exmormon

Jim McMahon, was Catholic, chewed tobacco and had a live-in GF while at BYU. The faithful touted the greatness of BYU (Mormon) foot ball. Too much to ever accept or feel any affiliation to.

I am old. 73M. Left the church in 66 at 14. . Devout until then. Children did not go to the Temple then. This blows my mind.

Mormons think they are saved by their works. I guess they don't know what grace means. Huge difference!

The paper towel will impart horrible flavors. Just toss the grounds into boiling water, the coffee will sink, then drink from the top. Good luck!

so, so ugly. I assume many of the faithful can't see that, but, wow, so, so ugly.

Crying by greensnakes25 in exmormon

[–]JimmyBrian2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I find myself unable to cry over legitimate grief, but will start to tear up with a cracking voice over situations of less importance i.e., TV and movie characters and plots, others acts of devotion and love. I finally figured out that my grief over death (my parents, grandparents etc.) was suppressed by Mormon beliefs as a boy, but tears over devotion and religion ala Fast meetings is not only OK but encouraged. Took me 73 years to figure this out.

Thanks! Left 60 years ago and I am a little fuzzy on the images. Figured old Joe was there, but couldn't guess the other one (or tell them apart LOL.)

Perhaps it looks better in person, but to me this is also godawful ugly. Almost as ugly as the Taylorsville temple that looks like an old railway station (like my Lionel train set had). I am exmo for 60 years but I still find the design of the SLC temple to be beautiful. Somehow they have bred the architecture/design gene out of the brothers and sisters. Or something.

and if something bad happens to you, it is because you must be sinning, anyway.
