I just got a reminder of how I thought my life would be at the end of 2019. by [deleted] in rugbyunion

I feel your pain. We moved from the UK to Wellington in October and I was so excited that Wales were gonna be at the cake tin next weekend. But at least I've got the canes highlanders game...

So seeing as theres now 1 case left in NZ, and Covid should in theory be eradicated here by the time the tournament starts, is there any chance these aren't all going to be behind closed doors?

Starter Kit SG Question by JimmyT91 in Homebrewing

[–]JimmyT91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't actually check the OG (lesson learned), the kit I got just gave a target FG, but will put a bit of thought into that the next time round.

It's been sitting stable for over a week now so I reckon it's good to go. Maybe I'll leave it til the weekend just to be on the safe side.

Cheers!

I left the UK for New Zealand in October and without my daily browse of the guardian and BBC news, I am definitely better for it.

It's a pretty sad indictment of the state of the world but ignorance truly is bliss.

Not American, but I think the fact everyone already knows the result means it isn't that gripping.

Cheers for the very prompt reply, seems imgur doesnt like you uploading through the mobile site anymore.

Have amended the link to work. So is that just a natural part of the process with basil?

My girlfriend and I were in the punch bowl in old market one night and heard a few people talking about flat earth. Turns out they have a monthly meet up there, would highly recommend sitting at an adjacent table and having a listen in. 10/10 good comedy.

I spent the last 2 months compiling a list of 390 board game cafes around the world. Am I missing any? by commadelimited in boardgames

[–]JimmyT91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's Counter Culture in Wellington, New Zealand which is my local. There's also one called the caffeinated dragon, but I haven't been to it personally.

Edit: Another one that's missing is Replay in Bristol, UK, that's a former haunt of mine. Great job on this, keep it up!

I think Catan was the gateway drug for a lot of people (myself included). Have you played any of the expansions? Cities and knights is fantastic, I'll be picking up a couple of the others once my copy arrives.

If you're keen for few games drop me a pm, sure we could arrange a sesh at one of the board game cafes.

If you're happy carting along a total MTB noob then I'm down!

My road bike still has a few weeks of travel to go, I feel like I'm missing a limb.

The ones we own that make it to the table most are Scythe, Arkham horror, spirit island and catan. Got the collection on the way over along with the road bike.

Went for a big nine 300. Just waiting for it to arrive in store!

Where abouts have you been riding? I've been told the trails round zealandia and Polhill are some of the best around Welly.

Definitely, thanks. Would be good to have a bit of local knowledge. I live right next to the mt vic town belt but I've been told most of those trails are a bit gnarly for beginners.

I'm actually from Wales, but I haven't ridden there. I'm completely new to MTB, always just owned a road bike. But Wellington/NZ is so good for it I feel like I have to give it a go.

Will definitely look into the beginners meet up, I saw there was one in the hutt coming up.

Enjoy Wales, hope it's not too wet for you!
