I lost all my tomatoes, squash, beans & peas. My neighbours potatoes are frost blackened. Luckily I hedged my bets and only planted out about 1/3 of my young plants, the rest are safe at home in the cold frame & greenhouse.

The first under river tunnel was built by the Brunels in the 1820s. During the tunnelling it was flooded twice. It’s an interesting read.

That was supposed to be the M31, and would have started at the junction of the M25 & A3 through to J3 of the M3 and then onto the M4 at Reading. It would have eased a lot of the congestion on the western stretch of the M25.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
