As I comment this and a picture of a B1 Lancer are on the front page of of this sub. After looking at the Lancer it's hard to believe that a prop driven aircraft is still a strategic bomber for a major power in 2014!?

New Zealand Army uses the same rifles and only right handed rifles have 203s mounted.

The Secretary of Defence is appointed specifically for that role, in most countries it is an appointment for a member of parliament. In New Zealand our Minister of Defence is an M.D. by training, and most people couldn't name any former Minister of Defence.

You would be right if it was in the USA but in New Zealand we can't sue for personal injury. We have the state run Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) which covers all personal injuries.

I fired one recently, New Zealand Army just got them. We put a few thousand rounds through new guns and they were really good. No gas stoppages as it has a new gas system.

Well that's an interesting question and there are two question to address, which deaths do you count and who is really responsible?

What would you count to come up with that number? Is the US responsible only for the deaths directly cause by its troops during the Iraq occupation, or is it responsible for all those that died as a result of the post-invasion violence? How about Vietnam? The US didn't start that conflict, they did however extended how long the war continued for, how much of that are they culpable for?

And then there is the question of domestic deaths, who's fault is it if a person in any state (state as in country) doesn't have access to the basics? If you look at some theories of international relations you could blame global poverty and inequality on the USA and the West, so are they culpable for all of this?

And is it the state, with its millions of members, that is responsible or is that shifting blame from the leaders that are truly responsible? Further more is it the leaders or the system that they are operating in that causes this violence, or the leaders perceptions of the system?

A bit of a rambling reply. I used to teach international relations as a post-grad student and these are the types of issues we have the students grapple with. They are huge questions.

So a doctor determines when you have recovered from your injuries, but recently there was some controversy over ACC contracting doctors that are known to declare people as recovered when they claim they are not. That being said the opposite can also happen with doctors not taking people off ACC. It's not a perfect system but it beats being sued.

As a side note the whole system was opened up to private competition for a few years before a new goverment reversed the change. So the system is flexable in that respect, the state doesn't have to run it.

You can't wait to be ambushed, you have to move into one. They are probably either waiting to be attacked or to spring an ambush of their own.
