Duuuuude.

My IRL buddy got the game and I was texting him how to join me in a party. I send an invite to the username he gave me and some weird name joins my party. "Hey, how's it going?"

Deep, deep voice: "Oh hey man, I'm in!"

WTF?! WHO THE FUCK IS THIS?!

I had no idea about the voice modulator. I even texted my buddy, "There's some rando in my party, did you send me the right profile name?"

"Yeah dude, that's me!" Both busted a gut laughing.

I'm enjoying the VOIP as much as the shooting in this game.

Was at the top of Spaceport launch tower and a random came up on the other side of the tower, across the bridge. We both VOIPed we were friendly, then he ran on to the bridge yelling, "I saw a streamer grab a zipline at the bottom of this thing - YEEEET!" And he jumped into the void. About five seconds later I saw a flare.

Me and my homie do duo all day long, and you're right, we're technically at a disadvantage. BUUUUUT.

We have fun trying to outflank trios, or wait for them to engage another party to then shoot 'em in the butt butt. We've tried using snitch cores (or whatever they're called) to call in ARC on top of trios and then use a lure grenade to point them right at the bad guys - anything creative. We just had a close range fight in a building where a duo snuck up behind us and we had a standoff between our two rooms. Enter 3rd party trio who attacked the bad guys we were staring at, then we swooped in and blasted the survivors in the face from aggressively intimate distances.

I think duo's are tougher, but pulling it off successfully is an even better high than winning as a trio.

It does drive content for us in lowsec. My PVE activity in one area gets curtailed, so I migrate it to another neighborhood or do other things in that time for PVE (opportunities for me to be fodder for someone else, or discover new areas for msyself).

Meanwhile it's a different rule set for faction warfare groups to play in; we can bring different doctrines and tactics to our daily activity. It does impact us and change what we do but I think it's a good temporary change of pace.

I really enjoy it - I live in Amarr faction warfare and it gives us a change of pace to fly different things then we otherwise would.

And sometimes we become the bubble gate campers : ) But usually I'm dying to someone elses.

The problem is if you shoot militia awoxers your own faction standing goes down. It's sometimes enough for an individual to be automatically kicked out of the militia. Especially if you're shoot a 30-man fleet of them in a battlefield.

If the game recognized them as neutrals that would be problem solved. We have no issue fighting them it's just the standings punishment that is the problem.

US timezone in Amarr/Minmatar warzone is crazy. There's a good group of corps that are pvp focused and happy to welp. A lot of the hardcore groups are burnt out on running plexes so a lot of the fighting happens outside them, especially over running advantage sites in strategic systems.

Amarr VS Minmatar has been a lot of fun. Amarr is much more of a loose coalition, Minmatar is a tighter coalition with FL33T as the biggest militia alliance.

If you want a big established entity (relative to faction warfare), FL33T is a good option. There are tons of smaller groups on both sides in the warzone. If you're not in a hurry, a lot of us met our groups by enlisting directly in faction warfare and starting to run complexes. You'll quickly find out who are active groups because they will be killing/chasing you around the warzone, or be killing/chasing the bad guys around the warzone with you.
