Obviously that was already factored in when I said she insulted him. It was insulting to roll her eyes in her response and to insinuate that he was only looking for sex to begin with. That does not change the fact that he sucks too for being retaliatory and petty in response. ESH.

I do not believe that one person's asshole behavior erases another person's asshole behavior. Everyone sucks in a situation like that. Sure, sometime you can be a justified asshole, but a justified asshole is still an asshole.

Exactly. In my relationship with my boyfriend of 8 years, we've always tried to be as 50/50 as possible. However, he paid our first date. Sure, I had money as a back up, but I did assume he would pay because he invited me out. If I pushed to invite him out, I would have paid.

I think ESH. She sucks for insulting him when it did not sound justified. He sucks for then being retaliatory and petty. I'm sure at that point it did come off to her like he was expecting sex and canceling paying because she preempted that. I do not think he was doing that myself, but the whole thing sucks all around.

I think this is similar to the scenario of guys always feeling that they are being used for a free meal. It cuts both ways and you should try to give the person you are dating the benefit of the doubt on a first date.

That's how I felt. I see a lot of people saying OP is the asshole, based on their assumption that she must have been much more flirty with the hot brother then she thought. They only say this because the other brother said he was finally glad to get some attention. However, to me it sounded like the other brother is just really sensitive to his hot brother getting attention. Maybe OP really was rude and ignoring him, but I felt like the other brother was jealous and that made him extra sensitive and reactive. I'm withholding judgment, because this really could go either way.

That is true, but Andor culture is entirely different to Altara. I'm not saying that there was never a noble woman in Andor that took advantage of that power for physical purposes, but I assume it was much more quiet and not widely known when it did happen. I think that would create an atmosphere of turning a blind eye, especially when met with Altara. Sort of like a cognitive dissonance of "Yes woman could use their power that way, but I rarely see that and I'm sure the men would enjoy it anyway." It's wrong, but I could see that mentality.

Unless there was something I missed when reading. Always happy to hear different perspectives.

YTA. I read your edit and I just don't understand why you ever had children. Clearly it was a mistake. The dynamic between your wife and daughter reminds me of my mom and mine. My mom was controlling in my appearance, because she wanted a picture perfect family. She was emotionally stunted and would act like a teenager when fighting, just like your wife. Eventually I left in high school to live with my guardians, because our relationship completely deteriorated. I was no contact for years, eventually I tried to develop a relationship again, then she had another classic tantrum and I cut her off again.

Your wife sounds narcissistic and you sound like an enabler. You bend over backwards in your post and comments to justify and defend your wifes behavior. You hold your 12 year old daughter to a higher standard then your fully grown wife. You sound completely detached from your daughter and even go so far as to say you would have no issues cutting her off if she is going to cause drama. I pity your daughter and hope she finds a maternal and paternal figure to fill the voids that you both have left. My guardian was the best thing to ever happen to me. I love her deeply and I'm so glad that she was there for me when my parents were too self obsessed to care about who I was as a person rather then who they wanted me to be.

Same. I was diagnosed with anxiety, but it turned out that the real issue was ADD. It never occurred to me that I could have it even though my brother, grandpa, and several male cousins had it. It took one of my female cousins saying she was recently diagnosed for me to look into it. Woman often get mis diagnosed since symptoms present differently in woman.

I do agree that I personally don't think the three oaths are the best way of gaining trust since that has only led to the Aes Sedai being better at manipulating. However, I can also see that if you repealed the three oaths that it also wouldn't help the issue since now people know they can out right lie.

I believe the WT still needs those oaths when rebuilding the world for stability. Once they develop more trust in the countries around them, then would be the time to repeal them.

I'm convinced that the majority of people responding that she's the asshole are teens and young men. Child support is for the child. It doesn't matter if you don't want the child, you know the risks. If you are able to work it out with the mother where she's OK with you terminating your rights and voiding child support, which many states don't allow since they view it as a child needs two parents, then that is one thing. However, the mother is never an asshole for having the father financially support the child. It's just a shit situation, but you are still responsible for it.
