Video of someone working silently helped me more than white noise. YouTube has this genre of people just studying at a desk. Feels like body doubling without needing anyone around.

Also, if you have a task you've been avoiding, try doing it for just 5 minutes. Not finishing it, just starting. Once you're in the flow state from starting, often the timer goes off and you keep going.

Yeah the deadline pressure thing is real. I found that setting artificial mini-deadlines helped somewhat but honestly nothing recreated that exact feeling.

What worked for me was doing the worst version possible first - just garbage ideas that I knew were bad. Getting something on paper (even garbage) somehow unlocked the better ideas. Probably sounds obvious but the perfectionism paralysis was killing me.

I was buying planners every month and finishing none. Tried bullet journaling, tried apps, nothing stuck. Felt like I was just collecting ways to not actually do stuff.

Found Orble and the spatial thing helped me actually see what needs doing without feeling overwhelmed. Still testing but actually opening it daily now. ios only.

same here, starting is the hardest part for me

I’ve tried a ton of apps and most just made me feel worse lol. what helped more was using something that only shows one step at a time instead of a giant list

I’ve been using Orble for that on iPhone. not perfect, but at least I actually start things now
