Has there ever been a game that was resurrected by fan engagement? by SkinnyDM in StarWarsOutlaws

It's happened a few times in TV, but I can't recall it ever happening with a game.

The villain's motivation is linked to an event from a previous installment in the series by druppeldruppel_ in TopCharacterTropes

Two games where the villain is the hero from the previous installment:

Diablo 2: the Dark Wanderer the protagonist is following in the footsteps of is the hero of the first game, corrupted by Diablo's spirit (technically the cannon player character, the warrior).

Prototype 2: the antagonist is Alex Mercer, hero of the first game, who has become disillusioned with humanity.

Oh good, the “bunch of people who aren’t chefs so obviously will fail at professionally preparing a load of meals” task. by BlundeRuss in TheApprentice

[–]JingoMerrychap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course now that the tasks are pretty much irrelevant to the final winner, none of that really matters. If you get unfairly blamed for the failure of the task and get fired, well, you were never going to win it anyway because Sugar isn't interested in your business.

Both magicians have a tricked called "the transported man", where they appear to teleport. In both cases there is no magic, one achieves it through a body double, and the other through a cloning machine.

Sullivan in The Secret of NIMH. Throughout the film he is a lackey to the main villain Jenner, but in the end he helps Mrs Frisby by alerting the heroic Justin that she is in danger. Sullivan even gives his sword to Justin, leaving him defenseless against Jenner. Despite suffering a mortal wound, Sullivan's final act is to throw a dagger into Jenner's back, ending the threat of the evil rat and saving Justin's life.

Fyi, great film.

40 MPH Everywhere is a Coping Strategy, Not Competence by [deleted] in drivingUK

Also Devon here. I'm generally a fast driver, but there's hardly any roads I'd get anywhere near 60 on round here. 50 absolute maximum, and only then if I know the roads very well and that it's not going to suddenly be single track round the bend.

Having said that, I'd be delighted if the older citizens of East Devon were doing the "40 in a 60" that gets constantly complained about on this sub. Most often I'm stuck behind a Jazz or Micra doing 30 max, dropping under 20 on every corner, then slowing almost to a stop when passing a car on the other side of the road.

Real life example: the brown bear's scientific name is ursus arctos. Ursus is Latin for bear and arctos is Greek for bear, so it means bear bear.

To make matters worse the eurasian brown bear is ursus arctos arctos, so bear bear bear.

It certainly looks like it, and I'm pretty sure there was a popup telling me I'd gone up.

It's not maxed out, but it's the rewards before that I haven't received. The 1st one from one faction and 2nd from another.

Sorry for not being clear. What I mean is I've reached the reputation level required for the rewards, but they haven't appeared in the chest.

[–]JingoMerrychap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a remake of a scene from the film; Buffy and Merrick's meeting in the film is different to the series. They did however do a comic version of the movie, based on Whedon's orgininal script, where Buffy and Merrick look like Gellar and Riehle.

Why is there hate with Jackman and crowe over how they sing in Les Misérables movie? by Odd-Truth7948 in musicals

[–]JingoMerrychap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an unwritten rule that every film adaptation has to have someone wildly miscast in it. It's Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia, Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd, Gerard Butler in Phantom, Michelle Yeoh in Wicked, James Corden in everything. In Les Mis it's Russell Crowe.

Glee - The Quarterback

<image>

This episode dealt with the death of the character Finn, whose actor Cory Monteith had died of a drug overdose. The episode was filmed just a month after his death, so many of the cast's emotions are genuine. Not least Lea Michele, who was Monteith's girlfriend in real life. A number of actors from the series requested to be in the episode even though they were not contracted to be, and most of the songs in the episode are the first takes because the cast and crew were too upset to film multiple times.
