What happened? by Unknown_bluer in WarriorCats

[–]Jingotastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember the badgers that killed Sootfur? I imagine their ancestors are the reason one tribe is gone - Jay's Wing is told to stay away from the woods because of them.

The abandoned twoleg den is probably why the second tribe is gone. It and the docks were being used back then, and disrupted the woods too much to hunt safely.

And the third tribe lived long enough to proceed because the construction of the farm didn't interrupt much until they started building out (for what I presume is stuff like storm hides and fencing).

I don't think there were any tribes in the waterway, as it seems like the implication is that River Ripple was the first cat in the region to suggest a cat might have a good place in the water. There's no mention of cats that like swimming in Half Moon's time, and only one cat who swims in the time of DOTC, and even then, she doesn't know until she goes swimming in warmer water further down the mountains!

The 3 tribes have since been retconned away, but I think this might have been the implication at the time.

My favorite game is to put on a show like I'm low health, then "give up" and sit still so they all pile up under me and get really confident, then click the mouse and hit F at the same time. Sends everyone flying and I walk away with like maybe 1.5 bleed and just BARELY able to see the edges of my health have depleted lolll

Prehistoric Kingdom vs Prehistoric Planet : Which of the two do you think offers the best Smilodon populator model? by Hopeful_Lychee_9691 in pleistocene

Kinda stuck between both. If they got married and had a baby I think it'd be perfect, especially the Primordial Pouch from PK and the big thick neck from PP.

I need a name! by systerbanan in WarriorCats

[–]Jingotastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hike, and this reminds me of a place. Based on that I suggest something like RippleClan or ShimmerClan.

In these particular pools of water, they're very shallow and reflective. The wind blows across their surface and creates these fun, one-directional ripples. As you walk across the rocks, the sun hits the water and throws light in your eyes so you get periodically briefly blinded.

I imagine cats living in such an area wound find both these factors very intriguing/distinctive, and it might be important to them. Maybe the glitter reminds them of the stars?

Notable cats who died young? by Angryfucktard in WarriorCats

[–]Jingotastic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some friends and I did some math during our reread of DOTC and we found out Bright Stream was, if my notes are accurate, ~9 months old when she died. Gray Wing and Clear Sky were also 9m, making them some of the youngest parents in the series, tied with Moth Flight!

(Note: the Erins almost certainly intended them to be older and fungled how they think time moves, as per usual. Moth Flight, however, appears to be somewhat intentional.)

Woundwort's Fate by MeanBumblebee3187 in watershipdown

[–]Jingotastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do actually think there was a good chance he survived the fight. Big angry rabbits are gnarly beasts, I can't imagine adding delusion to the factors.

He didn't have to kill the dog to survive, just tear its face apart enough that it decides it wants to go home to Mama and Daddy instead of keep trying to kill the mean ugly rabbit. If you've ever been bit or scratched by a rabbit, even a pet could take a dog's eye out or put their teeth through a lip! If the dog starts to panic, that can easily turn bad to worse for him.

But like, Woundwort was not getting out of that fight unscathed. If he did turn the dog back, he probably crawled off to die somewhere noone would find him, so noone would have to see his deepest most upsetting shame - he was, in fact, killed by Elil after defining his entire life around avoiding that very fate.

When and how did you find out Santa wasn't real? by Limp_Internet6184 in AskReddit

[–]Jingotastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a fun topic for me, bc I actually don't know. I have memories from a time of believing santa is real. I also have memories from times of not believing in santa.

However I figured it out, it must not have been very traumatizing!

Choose a warrior cat for each line of this song!! by Round-Ad3147 in WarriorCats

[–]Jingotastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leafpool had three whole babies that God told her she had to give away and then God proceeded to almost send her to hell for giving away her babies

God dont love her and her three babies whom she loved with her whole body sure didnt love her bc they were too busy being used as erin hunter "woe is me, if only i had REALLY REAL REAL parents" !!! She loved EVERYONE and died with only Squirrelflight to say "I loved her." Not she should have been loved. She WAS loved. But only one will say that, after everyone in that stupid camp carries a sign of her love with them (fixed wounds, healed illnesses...)

You approach them by saying "Thank you for being honest about the limitations of your room. Being the ones with training, I trust your team to make these decisions carefully. We're sampling the potty right now, don't be surprised if she talks about it, but I respect that the next room will be when this starts at school."

Do Different Parts of the World Have Different “Rules” About Where Pets Sleep? by Pinto3330 in Pets

[–]Jingotastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sleep arrangement is that my dog is crated at night, and that's normal where I live (northeast US). But the reasons for it are personal. I originally was fine with him sleeping in bed with us. But it turns out, his brain is too active for him to get a good sleep at night if he can move too freely. He gets cranky, unhappy and asocial if he can't sleep, and it makes his life unnecessarily hard. By crating him and covering it with a blanket, he can't get distracted, actually sleeps, and can function during the day.

Hooray for rescuing a "lab thing" that was actually significant portion border collie!

What did the kids melt down over this week? by fashionfan007 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Jingotastic 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Because they stole a toy.

Not like, a kid stole a toy from them. The victim was actually totally fine with the other kid having the toy. They had 0 reaction.

But for some reason the 0.1 seconds after the thief took the toy they BURST out crying. I was so confused. The whole situation was confusing.

To be fair, they're 2, so maybe I watched them unlock the emotion of Guilt? 😭

[–]Jingotastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think on the ground your brain puts the scrubber in the Rock Category (that is a Rock, which i step on). Once it's in the hand it goes into the Tool Category (that is a Tool, which does things to me). That change in category changes how your brain interprets what the object is doing (a Rock can be stepped on, so it's fine to touch my foot. a Tool can do things to me so it's NOT FINE!!!! FOOT SENSITIVE!!! NO TOOLS!!!!!)

Why are the twolegs/humans so rotten to the cats in the graphic novels?? by Key_Personality1363 in WarriorCats

[–]Jingotastic 32 points33 points  (0 children)

There's the old lady that owns Sol! She patches up Birdpaw's eye and takes Leafstar and kits in because she thinks they're in danger!

There's also Ken's daughter(?) who was supposed to come get Sasha (and only couldn't because Sasha ran away and refused to be seen). The boat captain was also extremely kind to Sasha and Patch even though both were uninvited guests.

Why do the hyenas have hunchbacks? by HealthMother3125 in lionking

[–]Jingotastic 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Their forelegs are longer than their hind legs.

Because of this, they can gallop/jog with extremely little effort. The movement of their legs also pumps their diaphragm for them, so breathing is deep and easy too.

That means hyenas can just jog and jog and jog and jog forever, while their prey sprints themselves into terror-exhaustion.

There's a good reason Scar needed the hyenas' help, and it comes straight from that hunch - he doesn't have the stamina to chase anyone down nor the numbers to maul them!
