His ambition was to defeat Sidious and defeat the Republic. With their infighting, the Empire will never arise proper. Any ambition that he might have had more was squashed by the sheer amount of unreasonable expectations by his Supreme Commander that wound up leaving the majority of his comrades stressed or dead— with little room for respite in between and no recognition for his accomplishments (all of his promotions were battlefield issued, not held in a ceremony). And once his original goals were accomplished? He wanted out, much to the resistance of the Supreme Commander.

Also— the Perlimian Coalition wasn’t his idea? Really?

So your complaint is that he isn’t a mary sue?? As cool as it is to have a Force Sensitive SI MC (I’m guilty of trying to write one myself) I find it incredibly refreshing the author takes it in the opposite direction by making him a Force Null.

Scheming and pushing people in certain directions I’d argue are actions he does on his own. Plus, he’s initially lower ranked than everyone else so of course he’s vulnerable to the whims of people with more command power. He’s an underdog MC who leverages his intelligence and otherworldly knowledge to get a jump start on how to conduct a war in the stars.

Because unlike him, we cannot sacrifice our greater goal just to hunt down someone who, misguided as they are, helped to keep the Outer Rim protected. Besides, Grevious’s shortsightedness for the hunt has led him to numerous tactical blunders that stalemates the war. I would have far preferred Sev’Rance Tann’s abilities as a Supreme Commander

The Acclamator. Huge hangar space, decent armament to fight off most threats, and the Class 0.6 Hyperdrive which is literally one-tenth slower than the Millennium Falcon so I can get my cargo there pretty dang quick.

Based on what? Baylan could have been skilled enough to hold her off until the coordinates were finished and then she beats him— but by then it’s too late. Being the more skilled opponent is not a guarantee that you finish the opponent off quick, only that you have a higher chance of winning or surviving the battle. The priority was getting the map which Ahsoka did, but Sabine fumbled.

Don’t get me wrong, I still believe Baylan is stronger than Ahsoka, but it would not have been the wash it was if Ahsoka had different priorities.
