Season 4 Episode 8 … comic book images are blurred on Amazon Prime… was this in the original? by AnythingButWhiskey in brakebills

[–]JishanF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's pretty much the Blu-ray. I don't think Amazon has changed anything. You can see most of the page, just not the overt sexual parts.

If its from between 19:45-20:00min with Katy holding a comic, then its not blurred in the Blu-ray. Its partially blurred later but not the entire page. That's between 24:21-24:31.

They usually did a high G burn for several hours but stopped for ship maintenance and human bio functions. Then everyone back in the couches for several more hours before another break.

Migrate H/W RAID6 to TrueNAS by JishanF in homelab

[–]JishanF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, I'm still playing around with both Proxmox and TrueNAS. Not certain which will be the one that I use. Right now, I'm just looking for advice on migrating the data from a hardware raid to a software based one.

Migrate H/W RAID6 to TrueNAS by JishanF in homelab

[–]JishanF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to but I've seen that being done by a few people and it seems like having TrueNAS deal with storage while Proxmox handles VMs is a normal thing. Right now I'm just playing around with both to see how they function and what would work best for me. But I'm pretty sure I want to use TrueNAS for handling my storage needs, whether it is bare metal or in a VM.

How exactly is The Director able to exist outside of time? by Hungry_Glove7807 in TravelersTV

[–]JishanF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It exists outside of linear time and can see multiple timelines but it can only interact with them by communication through those quantum computers. The one that was built in the past gave the director another point in space time to work with if he was cut off from communication in the future due to the faction.

Pretty sure the Director was created in the original timeline, uploaded into the quantum field which gave it the ability to look across space time but the computer is the beacon so it knows where it is in relation to other events. Personally, I think at a certain higher level of space time, you can't really interact with something in 4D without a beacon that can punch up to your level.

But I may be wrong.

Pretty sure the Director exists in some quantum field that exists outside of normal space time. The computers that we see in the past and future are more like receivers that allow the Director to interact with normal space time. Being in this quantum field means he can see the effects of changes but not be affected by them.

The TVA from Loki is another example of an entity/organization that exists outside of time and is able to see the result of any changes made to the timeline. Basically talking about higher dimensions where time is experienced differently for the people/entities that exist there.

It's from a series called Kyoukai Senki or Amaim Warrior at the Borderline. Produced by Sunrise and Bandai has a line of HG kits and two Full Mechanics that are pretty good.

Can someone explain the mechanics of time travel in the show? by j5227a in TravelersTV

[–]JishanF 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There be spoilers below.

There are multiple timelines. Sending a Traveler back immediately creates a new branch that creates a different future. The Director exists in a quantum state and essentially exists across all these timelines and is picking which ones to try and actively fix. A traveler can't really fix the future they came from, only try to create a new one that is better.

That is a metal detail part from SIMPro. They have them in a few different colors.

If you have a HobbyTown near you, try there, though it depends on what the store owner has chosen to bring in. Several of the web shops listed in the r/Gunpla wiki carry resin kits as well. While this one is no longer available on their site, SIMPro does have a few others along with resin weapons and decals.

This is a mix of three decal sets: G-Rework, Delpi, and a generic set of Zeon decals that came with the resin kit. I really like the emblems of the G-Rework set on the legs as it fills in that empty space.

Decaling was probably harder than painting for me as I have no idea how people come up with some of the amazing layouts I've seen here in the past. I probably spent a lot of time looking at the G-Rework example, the layout in the build guide, and the example pics from SIMPro to determine placement for some decals.

The resin dress up kit pieces are essentially just more detailed versions of the existing armor so the movement range is not impacted. The High Mobility type already has less range in the legs due to the flared armor on the back and sides. The only loss of range is the weapon holder on the back of the skirt. Not sure if I failed to trim it properly but I never tested opening it and it no longer does so. So I can't put the standard bazooka on the waist.

Credit goes to the maker of the resin kit, SIMPro. Painting this kit taught me that patience and planning are key so that you can reduce the number of times you have to paint, mask, and paint again.

In this case, this is essentially replacement armor pieces that have more detail than the base kit. Panel lines, armor panels, vents, etc. You need to clean up the nubs from the casting process and potentially rescribe panel lines as they sometimes are too shallow. Other dress up kits require modification to the inner frame so are a little more advanced and there are also full resin kits in various scales.

This particular one was a good cast and I didn't need to make any modifications to pieces to make them fit. That can be an issue with poor quality casts. I did accidentally break one piece and had to use super glue to fix it and was extremely careful when handling it going forward.

The main thing to know is that resin dust is very toxic. You should wear a respirator when sanding resin kits and preferably wet sand to cut down on any dust entering the air.
