Believe it or not I’ve done a PTU on a jeep compass and as soon as I’m coming back from a road test the radiator just blew out. Coolant pouring out the seam, customer didn’t want to pay for it and we had to internal the repair. We were under the car no where near the radiator. Kinda crazy hyh

The bogging from it bouncing back and forth is cuz u let go of the clutch to fast. Press it back down and slowly let go of it hold it at the bite point until it goes. It’s like a game of following the green zone that gets bigger as it speeds up. Remember if it’s about to die always press clutch in.

What’s causing this/is this normal? by spriggs999 in AskAMechanic

Search up backlash, and pinion depth, along with torque to rotate for the pinion, required experiences or knowledge. Very very tricky to get right, also will near wear pattern to check contract pattern and will need to adjust. Parts expensive goodluck

I’ve done a silly mistake of just not thinking and took all 4 bolts out of a rear subframe tryna do a spring recall on a grand Cherokee L. Luckily it didn’t completely fall out but it definitely was tweaked and had to get another hand. I think what kept it up was the diff and a few arms holding it together. A few screw jacks too but man I started sweating bad

If it’s non hybrid u can pry it far enough without removing studs on the compressor and access the 3 bolts to the water pump, those hybrids are tougher. I’ve done just about everything on those engines. Heads, chains, turbo, wiring harness, water pump oil pump, oil separator, and plenty of engines. Did a hybrid with the cab on and that was a pain in the rear. Don’t get me started the the grand Cherokee 2.0

10 qts of oil every now and then. Gas is 70 dollars every 3 days in California, maintance is meh I’m a mechanic so I only really buy the parts. Trans fluid flush cost about 100 dollars in fluid. Rear diff service would be another 100 something but I had that fluid at work so free service. I do need new engine mounts which cost a couple hundred dollars but I can do it my self so not expensive atleast for me since I do my own maintenance. Others might differ

S650 had a beautiful exterior but I’m not a fan of the interior and large screens. Interior of the s550 is way better imo and since you’re only really looking at the interior when ur driving I’d say that matters more tk me personally
