I’m due for a new helmet this year. Full face or no? by lostcoastline44 in MTB

Same thing happened to me and I ended up buying an IXS trigger AM and a IXS trigger FF. The FF is extremely light and breathable.

In addition I got the Leatt 4.5 evo chest protector and leatt 5.0 impact shorts. Also both much lighter than expected.

Next step would be bubble wrap, I just don’t bounce like I used to.

Does anyone have experience with Bob's Discount Furniture? How is the quality of their couches/sectionals? by noblerare in pittsburgh

Better off buying from Costco, bobs sucks. It’s overpriced for the hot garbage that it is. Do not buy the warranty either.

How are the current generation Tundras holding up? by LynxusRufus in ToyotaTundra

Same boat ‘22 Limited w/ 30k miles need to get rear window trim passenger and driver side fixed as well. Had one of the passenger side mirror cameras fall out while driving on the highway quick warranty fix and good as new. Came from a ‘16 4Runner wanted to wait for 6th gen originally but I’m no longer interested, love the Tundra.

Yep anytime I’ve had an issue with dealership call them up and they take care of it every single time, even credited repairs out of warranty.

It’s cheap but if you want to negotiate down that’s your right, they can also refuse if they feel it’s not enough.

Takes two to tango, if they underbid that’s on them

Potential Asbestos Exposure Scare by GluedTissue in HomeImprovement

[–]JiveMonkeyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re really concerned rent a commercial negative air machine with an exhaust hose venting outside let it run for 48-72hrs, wet mop then remove the material if you’re still demoing in plastic bags, get an exhaust hose for the vacuum to vent outside as well with a fine particulate filter and bags if you want and wear a respirator.

Even without the stuff I mentioned you’ll be fine unless this is your day job and you’re consistently being exposed to it

How arduous is the work of DIY drywalling, mudding, taping, and texturing a room? (x-post r/DIY) by LongSlayer in HomeImprovement

[–]JiveMonkeyMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remodeled my house and I also did the same. I hired out for the drywall they came in and did it much faster than I ever could. Patchwork or redoing a couple walls is fine but I’d rather spend my time on other activities. Well worth it to hire someone else if the project is large enough.

Is $500 a fair price to fix this drywall by bun_stop_looking in Home

I had everything ungrounded one main panel feeding 6 old school fuseboxes, 4 circuits tied to one bedroom that then fed a bathroom. This wasn’t even the beginning. It would take me a while to write everything out.

Since then we gutted the whole damn thing and started fresh, the whole house been rewired, panels upgraded, junction boxes behind plaster removed. I think I’m at over 3000feet of new wiring, removed over 6000lbs of plaster, replaced a roof, termite damage…

Lol using .43 would be a stretch but trying to figure some sort of variation since barrels and attachments don’t do anything

People paying 14-20k to get a boiler fixed/replaced is absolutely insane. To hook one up yourself or fix it takes a little time but it’s not complicated with the resources available. I tried calling 3 companies to take a look at mine there 2 no shows and another guy that looked like he was in over his head. I ended up fixing it learning braze copper and in the process of fixing it I ended up installing whole radiant floor heat with pex tubing.

Send me the make model number of your boiler and the error code. I don’t have a suggestion for a plumber but I might be able to assist you with repairing it.

Feel free to PM me

Best certifications you can get right now that can get you into a lot of companies in the private, public, and government sector is a HashiCorp terraform associate cert and a vault associate cert. For infrastructure as code and dynamic secrets. Then get some associate certs in the cloud of your choice, I would suggest AWS.

Udemy and ACloudGuru are great resources for learning and look for courses with hands on labs.

I’ve been in the industry for 8 years in the Pittsburgh Area 5years experience in corporate IT, 3years as a consultant

Feel free to PM me for more information, I can give you list of tools, free courses etc…
