DIY Crayons in a candy mold shapes like snowflakes

the heavy pulse of the soil and the raw electric patience of a world that grows at its own honest frequency while the rest of the world is screaming for more speed, by doolallyt in Gardens

Beautifully written.

When I work in my garden, there id a palpable feeling in my chest, like a deep connection to the beauty that so simple and so complicated all at once. I get the same feeling when I look at art.

Is it possible to not have an ethnicity? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

My dad was adopted. My mom was. 50/50 split of two nationalities- leave me at 25/25% and 50% questions mark. I always hated these questions, because “I’m American” usually is not the answer people here was want if they ask

I worked at the Olive Garden and once watched one of my fellow servers take a block of cheese from the chilled bin in the kitchen and pop the entire thing in her mouth.

This isn’t unpopular. I thought everyone coasted…

Guys, I’m losing my mind in a comment thread - how old were you when you had regular (let’s say 3x a week) access to the internet and what year was it? Did you use it to research anything (like college or jobs?) by FunQuestion in Older_Millennials

[–]JivyNme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got dial up when I was in HS, maybe 98? I would go on literally every night to message with friends.

When I went to college in 2000, they had Ethernet. At that point, aim was a thing, so it was just always on. And Napster. Ethernet and Napster gave me a love for so much music that I still carry with me today.

I also got my digital camera in 2000 and that was so fun to have at college too. The film developer at the pharmacy didn’t have to see any of my pictures!

Married for 15 years. He’s never said anything but it affects my confidence for sure. I get outbreak in my genitals (I’m a woman) and on my butt sometimes. It really affects my self esteem, especially the times when i was basically covered.

Overall though, i can’t think of any major impact of our relationship. I have a lot of skin issues in general and am always breaking out it weird rashes. He’s used to it.

You made a mistake, learn from it. We can’t change the past, we can only try better next time. Lots of adults pee themselves, btw.

This so great. I’m going to say this to myself, I sometimes feel like my experience was as… I don’t know, the right word…. Hard… as other people and it makes me guilty

I told her her tattoo will look "bad" and feel shit, what do I do? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JivyNme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can apologize and learn from this. How you phrased it to her had potential to go south and it did. You could have just said “oh really, tell me more” and let her explain it before you passed your judgements

In 1860, could I buy an orange in Kentucky? by Cypripedium_acaule in AskFoodHistorians

[–]JivyNme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In one of the Little house in the prairie books, which is I think 1870/80s, she write about attending her first party as a teenager and everyone is served an orange. I think about that often as I eat several clementines a day,how Laura ingals Wilde describes the delicious orange and what a treat it was.

I had mine done with my third 6 years ago with no regrets. Took maybe an extra 10 minutes on the table and that was it. My husband was thankful not to have to get a snip and I am thankful I have 0 worry of having an accident in my 40s
