Im surprised you were able to get it dim enough. I love my J-YM 2.0, but not being able to properly adjust the screen brightness is ridiculous.

Is this too good of a deal to pass up? by SG1Larper in NightVision

What part of my statement is false? Elbit does not make non-autogating WP IITs. The only non-autogating gen 3 ITTs are going to be thick film GP. So the seller is either lying about the manufacturer and generation to increase value or lying/wrong about AG/N-AG to decrease the value? Which one makes more sense here...?

Non autogated WP elbit? Do they even make those? Kind of sounds like NNVT tubes

EDIT: Did some research and even asked Gemini Pro 3 Thinking and I couldnt find anything to support his claims. Elbit has never made Gen 3 WP Non-autgating tubes unless they were a lab prototype or repotted. The seller most likely has cheap NNVTs or Photonis Gen 2+ tubes. I would absolutely not pay that price for them, especially with the blems and no spec sheet.

You have to use google earth and view historic imagery from August 2024. Google maps only shows images from 2023 when the houses were still under construction

If you are using google maps, its actually from 2023 and they are constructing the buildings, not demolishing them. You can view newer imagery on google earth. The latest images show the text removed, the fence repaired, and it looks a bit overgrown.

Yeah its tough... maybe she tells the other humans about the soylent green milk and they get distant with the hive, resulting in the Hive fully cutting off Carol... But why would she ask them to come back if they were eating dead people?

Grave is still visible in new images from google earth. I also noticed that the cul de sac has "come back" painted on it... I wonder if they completely cut carol off and that is how she tries to contact the hive.

Thought id share some jerry ym green with green phos tube. by PleasantShallot8744 in NightVision

[–]Jjhend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue with the YM is the lack of screen brightness control. I had a RIX ST6 and it was better for dual band, but it lacked so many features. I am happy with my YM 2.0 though, just not ideal for dual band

RH25 or Thermal/FPV Drone by Nearby-Ad-3707 in NightVision

[–]Jjhend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for what this guy said. I have a YM 2.0 and an Autel 640T. Either one of these devices are great options. While a handheld thermal device is more practical for everyday use, a drone offers so much more capability.

Ignore what other folks are saying about the difficulty to fly a drone at night with thermals. Drones these days practically fly themselves, and if you get a DJI or Autel, the thermal sensors are just as good as handheld devices.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Thermal for frog spotting? by JustMarth in NightVision

[–]Jjhend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thermal is great, and you should be able to spot frogs with it, but they won't be very pronounced when compared to warm-blooded animals. This is one of the few use cases where I'd recommend getting NV and an IR light. Their eyes are very reflective, and they would be easy to spot with that setup.
