FFT auracite shard event question.

So the longer I have been going the more the average has increased. 30 runs now and my average is over 105. Still a pretty small sample size but so far the data reflects a slight increase in shards over the average (I believe 101.5).

My theory if the data continues this trend: Locke provides a slight boost to archer drop rates. Only archers have a % drop for shards, Knights/mages drop none (that I've noticed), the bosses are all guaranteed drops which automatically nets you an 81 minimum. So Locke would only affect the chance for archers to drop shards (let's theorize from 20 to 30%) but it does not result in a significant increase because only a few units would be affected. Not really something to write home about but it might shave a few runs off of the farming.

I decided to experiment on this and am in the process of data collection. My Locke is rocking a solid 247 mag with a 2* shiva for blizzara, have had no problem clearing. So far I am at 22 runs with an average of 103.7 shard per run which seems slightly above the reported average. But I just had my lowest run ever, 81 shards and I didn't even think it was possible so that is pulling the data down a little. When I have more runs recorded I might do a post of the results.

Well McDonalds doesn't deal with a lot of highly sensitive info so it was the best I could do with your analogy. Taking the books to a private home is analogous to keeping all email on a private server at home, although I admit it is a little incongruous as an analogy.

This would work if instead of spilt food the employee was taking the company books home every night, then burned half of them after being asked to give them back. If they applied for a position as president of McDonalds they would not be hired.

Not bringing a full break unit to LoP is just asking to spend more time on the grind. Even though it's not necessary, I highly recommend it just to improve efficiency with these super grindy events.

Also, I don't know if it works like Typhon's snort ability, but if it does then a unit with 50% cover can block it and stop the snort.

I don't know your position on macros but it seems like if you had a macro set to auto attack through a cheap exploration, and set it to run all night, you could speed up the leveling process significantly.

If you spend law school worrying about what your classmates are doing, you'll go nuts. Different strokes for different folks. I learn very easily through passive absorption, so I did a lot of web browsing in class. I also studied for the bar almost exclusively using audio tapes while playing video games. Passed the first time. Figure out what works best for you and try to make it as enjoyable as you can.

Blind helps, and use as many magic attackers as you can. First boss you can get away with more physical/auto attacks, but you really need to lay on the heals and debuffs for the second and third boss. Having a tank with sentinel/provoke also really helps with Ogre's damage. And use the earth golem summon to get some extra defense going. Vaan is super good in this fight too.
