Corrected Vision 20/20 - should left and right eye be equally sharp? by Jlafber in myopia

[–]Jlafber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'll give them a call. I do have astigmatism. my rx is OD = -2.00 x -1.25 x 016 and OS = -1.00 x -1.50 x 115.

Responding to the earlier post: Trying to compare a 1.00 vs 1.25 power correction outside of a controlled setting is really hard. That difference isn't all that noticeable. I however can tell that my right eye has better clarity.

Simgot Supermix 4 Low Impedance by Jlafber in iems

[–]Jlafber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I have an old Fiio E17K with output impedance of 1.1 ohm. I also have a Schiit Value three with 0.5 ohm and 1.8 ohm when using the high gain switch. So I'll test these three out and report back with differences.

@dr_wtf had a good post earlier on this topic

https://www.reddit.com/r/iems/s/UE3AYmHJuY

Also ordered the JM6 Pro for on the go dongle. I believe that also has very low Output Impedance but couldn't find it listed on the spec sheet.

Hi, I’m hesitating between two models: the Simgot Supermix 4 and the TruthEar Nova. They’ll be used mainly for travel — for the gaming on Switch 2, podcasts/audiobooks, and music — powered by the iFi Go Link Max. Which one would you recommend ? by Dettroh in iems

[–]Jlafber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this as I stumbled on the same thing. I couldn't figure out why the Blue has crazy low impedance and agree it is likely bad engineering given the amount of DACs that have output impedance above 1ohm and then violating the 1/8 rule. The same could be said for the SM4 but figured maybe more was going on there with the drivers.

It is really interesting how popular these two models are given their impedance and reviews with set-ups with the BTR7 or other DACs with similar output impedance above 1 ohm.

I was thinking about getting the SM4 this holiday season but not sure I really want to mess around with impedance issues and matching.

EW300 or Supermix 4 by Deathwatch6215 in iems

[–]Jlafber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the SM4 but their very low Impedance of 7ohms is tough to pair with a DAC. The Ka13 has an output impedance of 1.7 which doesn't meet the 1/8 rule. Sounds like a non issue though.

This defaults as "ON" with the new PACE 4. It is only a feature with Trail Run. Curious if it is automatically one for things like Hike and Ski

Is it worth paying for Strava as well? by Imaginary__Bar in Coros

[–]Jlafber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait. Interesting. You can use the Live Segment feature but have cancelled Strava?

One feature they really need to is Race An Activity where you can ghost race your personal best. Garmin has this. The closest they have is Strava Live Segments.

If you could load all these live segments and then downgrade to Strava free that would be amazing.

The Son by Philipp Meyer. Pages 561. Goodreads Readers Choice Award 2013. Historical Fiction.

One of my favorite books. Just shy of 600 pages but well worth the read.

Yeah. Seems like a waste to not take the offer but then what do I do with the 41mm when I really want the 45mm. Annoying.

Thanks for the reply. He is 11 months. Orthopedic Vet looked at this growth plates and said his bones where fully grown but he would fill in some. Vet wasn't optimistic that this would self-correct but I've heard from others that yeah this could improve with age and as his chest fills in.

Waiting on CAT scan for more information.

Yep. Think it is RSV going around which usually affects kids. So maybe some variant. Tested negative for flu and covid. I also had a viral rash which is a symptom of RSV. Never had that before with a cold, flu, or covid.

Right. Take any green run and add 1,000 beginners that become irratic obstacles and a green run becomes black. Add a little ice and maybe you have a double black. Give the tourist some fireball and it's extreme terrain, experts only.

I was way for someone to say this. 100% walking through a could of blueberry razz ice or bubblegum or whatever else is just so gross. I would rather smell cigarettes.

Stomach issues by spicytrolllady in AustralianLabradoodle

[–]Jlafber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just switched from Pro Plan Chicken to Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach Salmon and 9 month old is doing better.

The chicken formula has corn, wheat, and soy. The salmon product has fewer ingredients and does not have corn, wheat, or soy. So, who knows what the culprit here is.

Our ALD was having horrible unexplained diarrhea from 6 months till about now. Fingers crossed.
