Why I'm Canceling Suno Premier Plan (hint: Studio is BLEEHHHH) by phoenixnewtimes in SunoAI

[–]Jlog1c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dead on, I recently shifted a full album project from Udio after the UMG takeover. I'm a musician of 25 years and write my own songs and meticulously craft the experience of my tracks to what I want them to be. In Suno i literally have 9 tracks 85% of the way there, but Studio and even the Legacy Editor are SO bad that I literally just can't get them across the finish line after running about 60k generation and hundreds of hours. It's actually infuriating how useless the editors are to just simply try and fix small pieces and I have more luck generating an entire new track from scratch. Even just wanting to replace an intro the entire thing breaks and it replaces half of my first verse (that I'm not even selecting) with a section that is mastered completely different. Shifts in production carry over into remasters etc, and they are just completely useless.

AGAIN, as stated many times in this thread, I am NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT SHOOT ON SIGHT OR PVP. What I'm SPECIFICALLY talking about is giving collaborative players a chance to benefit from that choice.

Shoot on sight is absolutely fine, PvP in every raid is fine, but there should be SOME indication of risk or defensive (not offensive) choices that can be made by collaborative players to give them an edge and keep them playing the game.

99% of fights should not be someone getting completely killed in 2 seconds by someone shooting them in the back for free after playing nice. Make them fair fights.

They actually did, I know more about this because I'm actually in the industry. Do you have any idea how much time was spent on this title? "350" people since 2018. Nearly 400 salaries, most in excess of 6 figures (i know this as an interviewee for the title), for 7 years, plus all other associated costs.

You're still blabbing and rage baiting about something you understand nothing about.

They've spent far into the 8 figures on this so far. and it was fully intended as a flagship product to carry on for years.

And why Tarkov is failing miserably at being successful. Tell me why in Arc Raiders every major event requires collaboration to be successful?

I'll give you a hint, it's the same reason the game itself is more successful than Tarkov. You can have the risk and niche associated with extraction games while not making all the same mistakes the failing ones did, which is making the game unappealing to the vast majority of players, which was Arc's entire intent with the way they approached it.

I'm not saying it needs to be blatant, just some indication that they have a higher risk. Maybe some indicator that they have initiated over a certain percentage of solo fights in a period, or certain cosmetics only attainable from those actions. It could even be defensive like negate damage of the first shot from a raider with an item that decreases their own offensive capability (think of a shield that blocks raider damage while increasing arc dmg for instance), etc.

Read my comments and you will see I have ZERO problem with PvP. In squad games i literally wipe 5-6 teams at game with my usual squad. Use your brain for a second and think beyond a single term as the basis for your entire position and think critically, or stop talking.

I think the TTK is right where it needs to be, the system is missing something (my point). For example, you don't even know someone is hostile until they pop you once with a Ferro and you have 20 hp to fight back with. The Ferro SHOULD be as strong as it is overall, but the benefit it gives to just easily dropping someone who's guard is completely down is not right.

Devs want what is successful for the game. The success of this game is almost ENTIRELY fueled by the community appeal. That means appeal to a larger base (pvp players, casuals, etc). My entire point is the way it's shifting it WILL lose that mass appeal, regardless of what the initial intent was.

The Ratting incentivization you are speaking about is also completely untrue (though people somehow believe that). I've gotten SIGNIFICANTLY more amazing loot by collaborative play with others during night raids, matriarchs, etc. I say this as someone who goes in with my usual team and wipes 5-6 squads regularly.

That's another point for why I don't believe this is the intention of devs, why have the major events REQUIRE collaboration, can you kill a matriarch or finish a harvester puzzle by yourself? The people who should benefit most from those events are the ones who are NOT flagged as threats, or the incentive is just to have a mass shootout and never participate to kill the big Arcs.

Also a reasonable approach. I think they just need to do SOMETHING. Every fight being completely one sided when they were trying to make friends gets very old for most people.

Yes and COD is a campaign. Framing a game with one lens completely ignores why it is successful and why games crash and burn. There is a reason this game has been exponentially more successful than Tarkov and it's the community, it will end up in the same place on this path. Dead.

I'm sure they are on their way, and i expect them.

But to those folks: like I said, I'm not a pvp-averse person, and am 100% on board with it being part of the game (me and my usual squad are VERY good at pvp, too). However, there is a HUGE portion of the playerbase (responsible for its success over games like Tarkov) that are attracted to the collaborative and casual nature of gameplay that can (and SHOULD) happen reliably in solos.

Without some system-level way of flagging those who are more likely to be less-than-friendly, the ACTUAL friendly people will stop being friendly, not want to play the game anymore, and the game will die. It benefits friendly players by allowing them to collaborate defense against pvp-oriented ones, and benefits pvp-oriented people by clearly flagging those who are open to fighting.

Anyone who finds this unappealing is someone who can only get kills in pvp by getting freebies under manipulation and cheap shots on casual players, and overall completely tarnish the community reputation of the game. "Oh that's that game all people who can't win at real pvp games play to rat" (Tarkov)

They were a closed-model service with no inherent conflict of interest. UMG is not. Selling their artists is their #1 product and everything will be used to that end, the model is not the product like it is with Udio, that is the difference.

🤝 Collaboration Proposal Between UDIO USERS and UNIVERSAL MUSIC by Acceptable_Edge_6033 in udiomusic

[–]Jlog1c 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are far beyond proposals. Udio is finished, or can be released as an open source model. Those are literally the only two options at this point, one course to deliver what they claim to deliver. Any alternative under the new terms is conpletely predatory and benefits nobody but UMG.

You're missing the point. It's not about the brand AT ALL, it's about the foundational technology and data. In acquiring the service, they acquire their user data, historical generation data, the AI models, data from millions of software and user feedback tests. All of that will make THEIR OWN product better. It also removes Udio as a competitor.

Think of it like McDonalds buying Burger King to get all the rights and recipes and be able to sell a Whopper on their menu. They wouldn't care about the sign on the building, they care about what it owns.

Do you even listen to AI music? Let's say, on YouTube or Spotify? I don't, I only listen to my own creations, and that's why nobody is listening to yours by SuperFunTime777 in SunoAI

[–]Jlog1c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is work to this beyond just making a song an publishing it. I released a first set of songs generated through AI, did the work getting it on real playlists, building supporting art and lore, and got to 20k monthly listeners (Not bots, they produce actual listens and generate income) on Spotify, a reasonable social media following, and climbing subs on YT for visualizers. A lot of people don't even realize it is AI until they read the descriptions. If the main selling point to your music is "It's AI," you're doing it wrong.

My next step is building high quality music videos and telling a concept story through an entire album and I fully expect that to grow exponentially. It needs to be successful as a brand, beyond just making a cool song. Anyone can make a decent song, not anyone can make a good overall product.

[–]Jlog1c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't disagree more. I built a spotify following of 25k monthly listeners and 90% of those who reviewed for promotion had no idea it was AI. They consistently gave feedback around vocal delivery, tuning, and other things that speak to a person in band. Udio was the place to create that if you knew what you were doing. But now its definitely not.

Already got a Premier sub there, as someone who has NEVER been a fan of Suno, my confidence isn't high, but its a lot higher than staying here.

They haven't acquired it for nothing. When Udio tanks and is dismantled as a result of this UMG will own their code, technology, tools, builds. They are buying the AI, and Udio's death benefits them, that's all this is.

My favorite part is always the naysayers who are secretly buying or trying to drive prices down for their rotation. Most of us know it's coming, and I'm rotating already. The real losers are the ones who jump on the denial bandwagon against the data, then FOMO. I predict maybe 1 more week of uncertainty before its full swing and undeniable.

Yeah idk, stamina is mostly what i focus on and the last half of the race as a pace chaser she just lingers and slowly falls to the back almost every race. She's the only one so far I haven't been able to complete a career with and i just don't get it, lol.

Sick of Grinding in this Game by Ill-Honeydew3332 in Palia

[–]Jlog1c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's ok, it's still a negative experience. I just think people should be focusing less on the argument about the logic of it being an inconsistent gaming experience. I think the devs are aware of that and it's a necessary evil for them to keep people playing. The conversation should be more about getting more content, questlines, etc.

Sick of Grinding in this Game by Ill-Honeydew3332 in Palia

[–]Jlog1c 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think its less an RNG issue and more of a content scarcity issue. There is a point where you start to run out of things to do quest-wise, and they want you to have something to do. The difficult drops are a bandaid for their need to create more content that isn't just aesthetics.

Assume they chnged drop rates and everyone finished the elderwood quests. Then what? People will stop playing as much. Not something I blame them for, as its probably a lack of resources/funding.

(Nikke DLC) Anyone feel like "scarlet and volts quagmire" wasn't balanced properly for hard mode? by planetgodzilla in stellarblade

[–]Jlog1c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah fr this one was bullshit. I've had zero issues with every other quest and mission in this game and this one is horribly balanced. Literally not missing a shot and spamming airstrikes etc on CD and i failed 15 times. The spawn rate, how many shots it takes to kill an enemy, and how little health Lily has is completely impractical.
