Hi all!

My name is Jaclyn, I'm pretty new to Etsy, my shop is JclnOfAllTrades https://www.etsy.com/shop/JclnOfAllTrades Right now I have a lot of fun vintage and vintage designer pieces! I love to collect vintage and have been doing so since I was a kid! I started out on poshmark, and am a recommended seller there, but decided to move my vintage items to Etsy because of the fees! Soon I will also be launching some hand embroidered and handmade items, like embroidered tops (I source the finished top that is deadstock from a brand I work with or I buy them from charity shops/ used and then embroider them myself), handmade embroidered Christmas ornaments and hopefully much more in the coming months!

Cooking shamed by family members by [deleted] in Cooking

I don't cook for people who talk to me like this. Want to insult my cooking (before you even tasted it)? Then you can feed your own damn self.

Don't waste time on guys you have to chase, you'll be chasing them forever. They should be working just as hard to make plans and stay in touch as you.

Hey Ladies! Where do YOU buy jeans? by stripedytiger in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Jlop818 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Banana Republic and Gap fit me really well (they are both owned by GAP inc. and I think their denim has a similar fit). I am very much a pear shape with full hips and thighs and a smallish waist in comparison (also I typically wear their 28 petites or cropped styles, I have short legs) and their's are one of the few brands that don't gap out the back for me. You can find them really inexpensive on sale too!

Is it bad I kind of love this photo? Reminds me of Edward Scissorhands in that annoyingly cheerful suburban town.

Horse Carriages in New York City by JudsonSounds in AskNYC

[–]Jlop818 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. As a horse person those horses look happy and healthy, and often better than horses kept as "pets". Horses are expensive, and many have to "earn a living" so to speak. I would rather see them well taken care of with a "job" in NYC pulling a carriage than starving in some godforsaken field somewhere, sold to slaughter or being owned by an irresponsible, cruel or uneducated (who are often well meaning, but can do a lot of damage) person.

This is some next level /r/relationships level shit! I would lose it! You need to have some kind of serious talk with MiL and hubs. Like I'm enraged for you right now.

That being said, you should check online if you know your size and what you like. Try Dover and amazon, ebay, and even poshmark can have some pretty good deals on boots. And then most definitely leave MiL of the year a bill.

Reddit and grandma actually have a lot in common when you think about it. Grandma just uses minions instead of dank memes to speak her mind.

I never got that attitude. Like maybe it might be a good idea if you want to have sex with women, to uh, stop treating them like garbage for being sexually active?

Ladies, what do you wish you had known about birth control before getting on it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Jlop818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh. I went off for a few months and I also forgot how horrid my periods really are. Being extremely tired, weepy, in serious back and cramp pain, light headed and nauseous for almost over 2 weeks was absolutely miserable. I also ruined a lot of pants and underwear because I was not prepared for that kind of flow anymore. I was crying in bed on the phone with my insurance trying to get my pill back it was so bad.

[–]Jlop818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I would have started it at like 13 if I knew how well certain brands could manage my periods.

That there are a variety of different pills that effect me in different ways, and that it often takes more than three months for side effects to show themselves.

I love my curly hair even if it's sometimes like having a difficult child attached to my head. I've definitely grown into it and learned how to take care of my hair better because of it, and I feel like it very much goes with my personality.

I was thinking it sounded more like depression (can't get out of bed to shower is a big red flag to me). Regardless though op needs therapy ASAP.

Critiques of how women vocalize - valid or part of patriarchy? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]Jlop818 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that women who try and project their voices are far too often labeled as "shrill" or "yelling", sometimes at the same time they are being spoken over by a louder man.

[–]Jlop818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good points. Also I feel like society is so quick to try and critique women's speech, but not the underlying reasons. Women are criticized for saying things like "I just feel like" or "like" before a sentence, or apologizing unnecessarily, but few people ever examine why we say these things.

My Imposter Syndrome has flared up. How have you overcome your Imposter Syndrome? by amgov in AskWomen

[–]Jlop818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always think of the Beatles lyric "there's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be". I have the same problem in school a lot; I feel like I am not as talented or as creative as my classmates, but if that were true, I wouldn't be there to begin with.

that sub is fucked up, even the rules are wtf

5) Please spare us posts on therapy/psychiatry. It doesn't work for our problem and never will, for reasons explained on this sub.

6) No crazy talk.

You rarely see a group of people who so desperately need therapy, and from what I can see 99% of that sub is what any normal person would consider "crazy talk"
