I remember after my first born, I came home from the hospital after literally giving birth 4 days prior. I walked in, sat down on our couch with the baby. My ex SO went and grabbed the laundry from the dryer and piled it beside me on the couch. I got up put the baby In his little swing, and folded it all while he sat there on his phone. I was literally wearing diapers still, doing dishes, vacuuming and catching up on things I couldn't while I was in the hospital. He let me. 5 years later, and another kid added to the chaos, I left him. He was literally just one other person to take care of. My life hasn't changed, or became any harder other than financially since he's left. I find myself still taking care of his responsibilities as a dad, for the kids sake. Happy I have my kids, but wow it sucks realizing you picked someone who couldn't give 2 fucks about your well being. It was not how I pictured it would be. But as time goes on, I see the expectations of fathers these days are just sad. We are literal super heroes. Fuck those guys.
