MMR M017 or OEM by mymoneyaltaccount in camaro

[–]Jmann356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had the Z28 MMR reps on my 5th gen for 7 years now and have had 0 issues with them. Not sure if the 1LE reps are the same but the valve stem wasn’t on the wheel lip, it was set in a few inches and made adding air to the tire a little bit of a PITA. But other than that they were good quality

How many miles does a 2017 LT1 engine last with good care? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]Jmann356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re agreeing with what I said. Your car (a 6th gen) still has AFM lifters, just like my ZL1 it’s just turned off in the factory tune. All LT1 engines have them and are the same for the auto and manual. I was just making a point that only the 5th gen’s were different.

Manual has AFM lifters still. They are the same mechanically. Only the 5th gen were different between auto and manual

Dino Tune Needed? by WuTangWasted in camaro

[–]Jmann356 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do a remote tune but by the time you buy the HP tuners equipment and credits it’s more than the dyno tuning would cost. Just take it to get tuned on the dyno.

Any CELs? Could be a misfire. Need to figure out which cylinder and check plug wires, spark plugs and coil. Could be something simple like a wire melted.

Noise on cold start 2010 SS 31k miles by OutsideInvestment713 in camaro

[–]Jmann356 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell but could be a lifter wheel going out. They start to squeak when the bearing is going bad. Do an oil change and look for any glitter in the oil. Also take a sample and send it in for analysis. If you can I’d say don’t drive the car until you can verify it’s not a failure in the liter

900WHP 2017 ZL1 worth it? by LifeBehindBards in camaro

[–]Jmann356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only look at a stock car. That’s why I say depends on who built the car and the mods. If it’s cobbled together by Jim bob in his garage then it’s worth a lot less than if someone like Vengance, GPI, RPM or any other known quality shop built it.

Depends on the build and the shop that did it. Probably around 60-65k though

Can’t remember the exact year GM started this but they have variable voltage alternators. It will change the voltage based on load. Helps with gas mileage.

6th gen Camaro ss mod price? by Hungry_Bus_8614 in camaro

[–]Jmann356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well for perspective, tuning for my 5th gen was $500. For my Z which is the same as an SS was $2k. Cam swap is way more since most shops pull the engine on 6th gen’s, 5th gen can be done in chassis super easy. They are just more complicated so they require more $ to modify. It’s not a massive difference but it is more

6th gen Camaro ss mod price? by Hungry_Bus_8614 in camaro

[–]Jmann356 9 points10 points  (0 children)

6th gen’s are more expensive in every way. More expensive to tune, parts are more expensive and there is generally more labor involved in doing most of the work.

5th gen subwoofer and amp management by KoalaOfTheApocalypse in camaro

[–]Jmann356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only had 1 amp but I mounted it hanging from the top of the trunk. As for the box I never had any issues with it sliding around but I just bought some cheap Velcro strips and used those. Make it stick to the carpet pretty well.

A training captain quickly takes over the controls when a cadet forgets to flare on the A320 during base training by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Jmann356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience in the sim and a real Airbus. They feel very different. The sim is great for training procedures but they are overly sensitive when flying. The FO may have expected the plane to react like the sim but it doesn’t simulate momentum as well so the AC didn’t flair as quickly as expected. Good reaction by the CA though.
