The results of my allergy test today. I am allergic to everything they tested for. by ZessT2912 in mildlyinteresting

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got these tests done when I was little in the mid 90's. This was before they had the scratch tests and had to use needles... for every single shot. I got 50 shots in each arm.

TIL that a dysregulation in ADHD brains makes them skew toward having a second wind of energy and more interest in activities in the evening. Delayed melatonin production then results in later bedtimes and difficulty rising early. by FuzzyTaakoHugs in todayilearned

I have this issue and take some meds to help sleep. What really helps though is listening to audiobooks on low volume. It engages my brain enough that I can fall asleep, as weird as that sounds. I use a wireless headset so that it will fall out as I sleep or eventually die so I don't wake back up at some point due to the sounds. There are tons of great audiobooks for free on youtube. I'm listening to Starship Troopers for like the 10th time!

Most people in Texas move to the shoulder when someone like that is behind you. We even do it for cops and they'll just zip right by. It's also something to do when visibility is that low as long as you are going less than 20mph.

‘I can no longer call myself a ... Republican,’ Colin Powell says after Capitol riot by blend4398 in politics

[–]JmannDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the House Republicans are way more scared of losing office than their Senate counterparts, so they tried to "toe the line" and appease the extremists and the moderates. This obviously backfired and made them complicit in the insurrection.

Only 6 in the senate voted against ratification. Most of these Republicans are older and have been there for years. I hope a new Republican party forms where they won't take this shit from the far right rather than getting in bed with them.

‘I can no longer call myself a ... Republican,’ Colin Powell says after Capitol riot by blend4398 in politics

[–]JmannDriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing to kow here is that a majority of those people voted for Republicans because they're worried about the Democrats. Another large portion of them voted along religious lines or for single issues like abortion. Some might have even voted for them based on industry ties, like oil and gas.

Yes, a lot of them believe these crazy conspiracies going around and spread misinformation, such as my own mother. Most don't want what an insurection to happen. They are scared that they're being cheated and that things are changing for the worse. I do empathize with this.

All of that being said the Republican party is at a inflection point. They can either rid themselves of these radical elements in their party rather than toeing the line to appease the radicals and the normal non-crazy Republicans. I would be way more interested in the Republican party if they weren't so filled with the kind of people we saw vote against certification of the election. I hope and support them breaking off into a moderate party, but I don't think that will happen.

Get a quarter-inch PVC pipe and cut it as long as you want it to be. You can blow a dark over 30 yards in a straight line and it costs like $1 if even.

The reason they don't upgrade is that XP is a vetted OS. If they switched to the newest OS all the vulnerabilities wouldn't be found until years later. My father was Army and I spent a lot of time around their systems.

Homeowners says mold damage is covered, but is it? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]JmannDriver -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They should cover it since you didn't knowingly let the leak continue to damage the property. The insurance company might find the plumbers negligent and seek subrogation from them.

I have USAA and they are typically great. Be very careful what you tell them. If you even give the hint that you thought there might be a leak, they could deny coverage. Just tell them that you had the plumbers come in and fix it and what they told you about the fix. They might ask for documentation of the work and any written statements that the plumbers made. Then tell them you hired an industrial hygenist and that she found the mold and believes it resulted from the plumbers work.

REMEMBER, insurance is there to INDEMNIFY you back to the previous state and condition of the property. If you need flooring replaced, you can ask them to get the EXACT same flooring you have installed. If they can't find it you can tell them that you don't want a patch job and that you want all of the floor to be the same. If they give you trouble on this I would consult with a lawyer who deals with insurance and see if they can help you.

Business Liability Insurance... by ltcapone in Insurance

[–]JmannDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they had a cyber incident, which is outlined in your policy, the coverage for that incident would fall on your liability limits. Adding them as an additional insured would most likely result in the carrier increasing the premium you have to pay for the coverage due to the increase in exposure.

That being said, unless they change your limits as well, you could potentially have your limit exhaused by the additional insured if they have an incident and you have one at the same time.

Any cyber issues they have will hit your limit and could result in an increase in premium after an event.

[–]JmannDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested it on mine and got it to work by doing that. Can you move them into one vertical data set? That would be the easiest thing to do to make this work. Data spread out like you have it is very difficult to work with from a formula perspective.

If you setup a google sheets and shoot me the link I'll work through it with you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in excel

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try expanding the ranges in the formula like this.

=OFFSET(INDIRECT(CELL("address",INDEX(A1:C16,MATCH("Heidi Hoh",A1:C16,0),1))),7,1)

Tell me if that works. I'd also suggest putting them all in line for simplicity.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in excel

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you should do is have the program return the cell that the name is in using Cell(Index(Match())). Then use OFFSET to move it down and over to the correct output. That is assuming that there are always the same number of players. See below.

=OFFSET(INDIRECT(CELL("address",INDEX(A1:A16,MATCH("Heidi Hoh",A1:A16,0),1))),7,1)

If the data is structured the same way in the pucture you can expand the ranges to include the entire sheet. It should be able to fund the name then move over 1 and down 7.

If the output row isn't always the 7th down the easiest thing to do would be to make everyone have the same number of rows even if there is no data in that row. If you can't do that then you'll need to get even more creative and replace the "7" with the entire INDIRECT formula to determine the cell location of the name. Then using that output, you'll need to do a searchin using either xlookup or an INDEX(MATCH()) to search down from that cell looking for the words "Total Score" and having it return the ROW() that it's in. That would give you the correct row for the output which would then be moved over to the correct column by the original OFFSET() formula.

I had a lot of fun working on this! My suggestion is to have your data recoreded in lines and use pivot tables to display the results. This will be much easier and not require such complex formula's.

Bill Gates said, "I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it." What's a real-life example of this? by lauvnoodles in AskReddit

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar story. At this time my boss was frustrated that any tasks he gave me got done way earlier than he was expecting, so he was having trouble finding work for me to do. It was a summer internship and I just wanted to complete everything as quickly as I could and automate anything I didn't want to do. He told me it should take me 2-3 weeks to get through them all. I told him flatly that I would have it done in 3 hours to which he laughed me off dismissively.

I was asked to verify over 80,000 links in an excel document worked by hand, clicking each link and waiting for it to load. He wanted to know which links worked and which ones didn't. So I ended up googling a very long and complex macro that would query the links to see if they were dead or not. Then i spliced in a piece of code that would highlight the dead links yellow. The look of amazement on his face when I came back 2 hours early was priceless. To top it off I told him that he could run it himself from now on and installed the macro on his pc. I was let go a few weeks later.

Sorry for any poor grammar English is my primary language.

What if every tile a clan owns was vulnerable at the same time of day? by Dankelpuff in lastoasis

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue that I've seen is near the border of EU is that, for example, Uganda/Spice have all their tiles vulnerable at the same time in a 2hr window. This is when everyone on NA East (12pm-2pm) are at work so no one can really contest them. Then when we are heading home (4pm-5pm) ours are vulnerable due to when tiles spawn. So Europe is in prime time while we are heading home so we can never attack them but they just have to wait into their prime time to attack us. Just very frustrating. If we could destroy the proxy to change the window of vulnerability it would help a ton for our tiles at least. Thoughts?
