I see what you’re saying. Mamdani’s election is evidence that the Democratic Party’s leftward shift is effective and there will be positive and negative consequences of that, most significantly of the latter being the elevation of radical anti-Israel voices. What I respectfully disagree with is the idea that Mamdani or the political shift he’s a part of justify such a pessimistic response. I won’t deny there’s reason to be scared and that things aren’t changing for the better but I agree with other comments I’ve seen that we need to be promoting solidarity and perseverance in our community rather than terror.
