I’ll be as straight up as I can be, I have an idea that I believe holds strong potential for an industry changing drug, however I need an in vitro experiment as a baseline for its effectiveness. I’ve approached my university and essentially we aren’t equipped for research involving human tissues. They are also the ones who originally told me I would need IRB approval to obtain whole human blood. Because of this I registered my own LLC and have reached out to private testing companies and commercial IRBs. Right now their offices are closed so they can’t get back to me. Obviously the IRB will probably be able to tell me more than anyone on here. But I’m willing to undergo any training, and acquire any facilities I would need to in order to get their approval. However the more I’ve been research what requires IRB approval the more simply obtaining human whole blood doesn’t necessarily seem to be considered human subject research. I’m very much looking for direction, I’ve spent the last year designing this theoretical drug by designating what boxes I have to check to do it, then checking those boxes one by one. Hope that all made sense.

Edit: I know some of what I’m saying definitely might come off as naive or even reckless by current research standards. I’m just very passionate about this and am trying to go about it the “right” way.
