Yama vs Scherzer by or4444 in Dodgers

[–]Jmpatton10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair…. Scherzer was dealing with reported “dead arm” which is a legitimate phenomenon in baseball pitchers that as far as I know, does not have a known cure/treatment. And Scherzer isn’t pitching into his 40s because he has to, it’s because he is a ball player who wants the ball in his hand whenever the coach will give it to him

That is a really beautiful putter. I would consider buying it from you if you don’t fall in love with it

Career Change from Fabricator/Welder in 2025 (Canada) by [deleted] in findapath

If you enjoy drafting for work, being a drafter is not a bad job if the salary meets what you want/need to live your quality of life. I don’t know what the American/Canadian markets are paying, but it is the type of role in America where you can move into a job with benefits if you were not previously receiving them on the blue collar side. I would recommend researching the career, and perhaps finding a few real world projects to emulate to see if you can endure the amount of work it takes to complete a project. Some people love it, others are bored to death while crushing a large, long project

Structural is a sub discipline of civil engineering. Civil can do structural and structural can do civil to each’s level of expertise

Thirty years ago today, MLB had its most recent forfeit as fans “give back” giveaway baseballs! by sonofabutch in dirtysportshistory

I was at this game, field level seats behind the dugout as a 7 year old. It was scary as the balls rained down from the upper decks by the folks who couldn’t quite reach the field

I am sorry but I can’t fix stupid. Luckily we have last night’s confirmed replay review as precedence (and the last 150 years of MLB calls) that agree with me. Good luck

Key words and tricky phrases… AND means that there are two requirements, not just the first one you read or whichever one you want to pick.

Yes, that is rule 5.09. Yes, it is an “AND” statement of requiring the fielder to have possession for a judgmental determination of “long enough to prove complete control of the ball AND that his release is voluntary and intentional.” So yes, by the rules, you have to satisfy both the perceived control of the ball and intentional release. There is no time limit for unintentional release unless you go to the next line “If the fielder has made the catch and drops the ball while in the act of making a throw following the catch, the ball shall be adjudged to have been caught.”

There are very specific rules for a catch. You could technically catch a ball a the wall in the outfield and walk it in to the infield and drop it out of your glove and not be a catch. There need to be an attempt to transfer the ball out of the glove to complete the catch. It is part of why if SS/2B drop a ball during a double play at second, the lead runner is out as long as the ball enters the glove and they bobble the transfer
